WHO IS Your FIANCÉ?

ALEX POV

When I got the market most of the stalls were closed. I quickly rushed down to the one that was still opened.

"Hi do you have wild rice?. I asked the young boy there.

"No the stalls at the opposite are the only ones who sells wild rice". He replied.

"Oh". I turned to see the direction his finger was pointing and saw that the stalls were closed.

"But they are closed for the day. If you want to catch them on time you should come as early as two o'clock in the afternoon". He informed me.

"Ok thanks a lot". I thanked him and made my way back to the road that leads to my house.

"Shit! I cursed out loud.

This is the consequence of acting like a hero. Now I will have to come here again tomorrow.

"Argh! I have a lot of reports to attend to and I need to go and visit my grandpa with the bowl of native food made from the wild rice, but now I will have to postpone the visit.

My grandpa loves navtive foods made with wild rice because his late love who is my grandmother loves wild rice a lot. So I made a habit that he will have wild rice every third day of the week. To help me whenever he feels lonely.

"Am sorry grandpa looks like you will be having your meal next tomorrow". I said knowing that he won't have any other food apart from that wild rice. It's if he stomach has been projected and designed to have wild rice every week.

He would rather fast than take anything that is not made from wide rice.

Well I was the one who made him develop the habit so I must carry my cross alone.

"Ahhhh". I heard a moan coming out from the bush. It was already nighttime when I reach the beginning of a shortcut that leads me directly to my house. And the shortcut has overgrown weeds at both sides.

"Ahhh, are you done? A familiar feminine voice rang out.

"Yes". A gruff voice replied her.

"So soon". She whined.

"You know I have to go home so that my wife won't suspect me". He replied her.

"Why is it your wife every time? Hump". She puffed and stormed out of the bush.

I quickly hid behind the tall grass and waited for them to leave the premises.

Soon I saw them heading towards my direction. So I shifted a bit in order to hide myself properly.

"Crack". My foot stepped on a dry twig.

"Huh did you hear that". She asked the guy beside her.
