A Debt Owed

Her blood ran cold.

He knew who she was! Was this man an enemy? She couldn't tell. She didn't have time to find out either. The man was right. Time was ticking. 

She had to make a decision. And she had to make it quick. 

"What do you want in return?"

The man leaned back. He seemed to have hoped she would accept her help without hesitation. 

"You're quite the smart one, aren't you."

"I sure hope I am," she muttered under her breath. 

"All I ask in return is a promised favor, to be fulfilled in the future." 

"That sounds awfully ambiguous. You could ask anything of me and I would have to agree." 

"That's the idea."

Athena snorted, "Well you might as well ask me to marry you now."

"That's an idea I had not considered." 

"You!" She held her tongue while the man chuckled.
