Cornered

She loved them all equally. They'd been kind to her, and helped her unconditionally. But each of them wanted something from her, something she might not be able to give. 

"I know, I'm sorry too," Darrion apologized. 

"Why are you… you apologizing?" She sniffled, "You've done nothing wrong."

"Nothing wrong?" Darrion laughed, "Princess, I was completely out of line with King Krayden. I've likely condemned our entire kingdom to a ruthless king. Just because I was jealous!" 

Athena stopped for a second as she looked at him. 

"You? You were jealous?" She asked. 

Darrion blushed a little. He had let his true thoughts slip! But there was no backtracking now. The truth was out. 

He would simply have to live with it. 

"You were talking to him, to Zicheng. You didn't even acknowledge my existence," he said before pursing his lips. 

He wasn't used to spelling out his emotions and grievances like this.
