*Rosie Fay-Donovan*
My subconscious helped me find my way back to my room because I wasn’t paying the slightest attention to where I was going. I bumped into someone from the staff on my way out and blindly apologized, not once stopping to look back.
I could still hear Archie’s voice behind me, but for some reason, he didn’t catch me. Not until we got to our room. I stomped inside, glad that I had my key card with me. It’d be a bit embarrassing to wait for him to open the door for me.
The door didn’t slam behind me though, so I assumed Archie had finally reached me. I headed to the balcony, taking a deep breath and taking in the sea breeze. I thought that’d help to calm me down, but it didn’t.
“Rosie, come on, you know she’s lying. I never—”
“I don’t want to hear it,” I grumbled, crossing my arms in front of my chest and finally turning to look at him, stepping inside the room.
