Or maybe I was wrong. I could be wrong, right? With the life I had, it was a fair mistake to be made. I could just be over my head.
I looked at the mirror one more time, trying to identify the car. Maybe Archie sent someone to watch me for safety since he knew I was against having a bodyguard on my tail 24/7 which was a decision I was starting to regret now.
But Archie would never do that behind my back. And I didn’t recognize the car. It wasn’t one of ours. I was just desperate to find another explanation for what I already knew was happening.
I felt my hands sweating on the steering wheel, but I tightened my grip around it, making sure I didn’t freak out and lose control of the car.
I pondered what to do. If I changed my destination, I could maybe confuse whoever was following me and get them off my tail. I wasn’t a professional driver, but I had somewhat good driving skills.
Not for a chase though.
