Chapter 62: Married Life

*Rosie Fay-Donovan*

I stared at Archie’s empty side of bed for what felt like hours. Judging from the way the sheet was impeccably neat and immaculate, I would bet he didn’t sleep in our bed.

I didn’t know how to feel about it. I knew it wasn’t unusual for couples to have a fight and sleep in separate beds, but still, this was new for us, and I was struggling to deal with it.

When I finally decided to move on with my day and do something productive, I tossed the sheet aside and headed to the bathroom to take a shower before going to work.

At least there, I would be able to keep my mind occupied and not worry about the outcome of our argument and what our marriage would become.

I wasn’t going to apologize to him for barging into his meeting. I was feeling a bit regretful, yes, but I was too stubborn and proud to just admit I was wrong when the only thing I had done wrong was to show up unannounced.
