The Stockard Creek hospital was an efficient, although not overly large facility, and it's' waiting rooms and emergency area would fill up quickly if there was a major incident like a fire or a large-scale car crash or something similar. Certainly, the chaos that took place up behind Sarah's place would qualify – and the attention surrounding it, all related to what was in direct correlation to the controversial town meeting drew fire, police and road medical personnel, as well as someone from the paper.


Word traveled fast, and everyone wanted to know what had happened…


Keith met Darcy in one of the emergency rooms where she sat at Bella's bedside and the little girl, now wrapped warmly beneath a pile of blankets, had one ankle exposed. It had been wrapped tightly in a bandage, but she looked – although tiny and fragile and vulnerable – surprisingly happy and content.
