“There you are,” a soft, rich voice spoke from the doorway of the Blackwood library.
Having spent most of her Saturday out with Brianna looking through wedding dresses and finalizing the RSVP list, Daphne decided to spend the remainder of her time scrolling through one of her old, classic favorites.
Daphne glanced up from her book to see Alistair in his usual dark blue dress shirt and his hair slicked back from his chiseled face. Life had been interesting around the manor, to say the least.
She still found herself getting up early and dressing for the day—whatever that pertained to. If she wasn’t losing herself in Alistair’s work, then she was being consumed with the much needed preparations for the wedding.
What started out as just a small, private affair had been transformed into an event that was fit for a princess. However, as the days passed where she stayed at Blackwood Manor, Daphne was starting to have slight doubts about her so-called ‘prince’.
