*Daphne*
Brianna gingerly assisted Daphne out of the car as it parked in front of the Courtland Estate. Having arrived during the day, they were able to see the finer details of the manor. It was certainly less regal looking than home, but it held its own charm that Daphne was fully able to appreciate.
The ground and surrounding foliage were lightly dusted with fresh snow, giving everything a magical glow.
“Holy sh*t, Daph,” Brianna gasped.
Daphne giggled at her friend’s wonderfully shocked expression. Of course anyone outside of the Blackwood’s inner social groups would be mystified by how grand the houses were.
“I know,” she said to her friend. “I felt the same way when I came here for New Year’s Eve.”
Brianna merely shook her head and gaped at the large pillars that aligned either side of the main doors. While the holidays passed, Daphne was pleased to see that people were still using ropes of garlands to dress the doorways and railings.
