Chapter 49: Memory

*Daphne*

It was the constant beeping sound that dragged Daphne out of her sleep. The continuous, irritating noise made her believe that the alarm on her phone was going off and it was time for her to get ready for class.

Her eyes slowly began to peak open. And much to her utter surprise, she wasn’t in her bedroom. She wasn’t even in her apartment that she and Brianna had been renting for the semester.

The room she was in now was much brighter. The walls were a pale, unsettling shade of blue and the paper-thin sheets that covered her felt scratchy and unfamiliar. Her dark purple curtains were nowhere to be found, along with several other personal items.

‘Where the hell am I?’ she thought nervously.

That same excessive beeping sound grew louder in her ears. She tried turning her head to search for her phone, but quickly realized that the noise wasn’t coming from her device. It was a hospital monitor. One that she just so happened to be hooked up to.
