By now most of those who were fighting had become familiar with the Spirit Record and by now they were aware of the treasures that would drop if the Spirit Record system saw the need to reward them for their deeds. The treasures so far had been classed in the following categories. In ascending order of course;
Common grade treasures; that came in yellow colored orbsRare grade treasures; that came in red colored orbsLegendary grade treasures; that came in blue colored orbsHeaven grade treasures; that came in purple colored orbsDemi-god grade treasures; that came in black colored orbsGod grade treasures; that came in rainbow colored orbs
Out of all the orbs that Jordan was looking at, one of them was blue and there other red. Jordan couldn't help but look at the orbs with sparkling eyes, he was well aware that red orbs meant that there were rare grade treasures inside and even though he didn't know the full scale in which the treasures were tiered, he just knew that they would be helpful after all his main weapon; his Thunder Gauntlets that he wore were in fact rare grade and they had helped him in more ways than one. Looking at the blue orb Jordan wondered was it of a higher grade than Huey's sword or was it a step below.
Huey had told Jordan what grade his Black Salamander was he said it was of the Heaven grade, shaking his head Jordan picked up the orb. A flash of bright light as he crashed it and right there in his hands appeared to be a set of armor.
It was dark bronze in color with strips of gold here and there giving it a unique feel. It was made up of mainly gold colored chest plate, bronze shin guards, golden shoulder guards and golden knee and elbow guards. Jordan's eyes sparkled with delight. Not bad at all, was what he thought before looking at its information.
[Bronze Armor(Legendary grade): Set of armor that was built precisely for battle. It is light while being sturdy.
Effects: 1. All stats +30| 2. Defence +130| 3. Reduces the cool down time of skills by 20%]
Jordan smiled as he read the information this was all too good to be true, aside from increasing his stats the very fact that it reduced the cool down time of skills was enough to show just how practical this armor was and given his style of combat it was truly an armor made just for him. Jordan wasted no time and immediately began to wearing the armor which took him about 2 minutes, it would have taken him less time but given the state of his body there was nothing else he could do.
After putting it on his immediately felt the effects of the armor. His recently reduced stats were replaced by the stats provided by the armor. Jordan released a breath as he moved on to the other orb, albeit with difficulty.
'Man I really hope it's a healing potion or something' Jordan thought as he crashed the second orb which was red indicating that it was of the rare grade.
With another flash of light Jordan held out some hope that it would at least be a healing potion of some kind.
It wasn't a healing portion at all. Far from it. It was…
A booklet
"Huh?" Jordan voiced out his confusion. "What the hell is this" he whined. His expression was all but disappointed. But could you blame him? After seeing how great his gauntlets were as well as the armor he had recently received how could he not?
Jordan looked at the booklet once more. It was a small 10 by 5 centimeter rectangular shaped. It was also thin with its cover colored with a brown color, it didn't look all that impressive at all in fact it even looked to be slightly worn especially in the bindings of the book.
The way it looked seemed to remind Jordan of the old martial arts manuals he had seen in a certain manhwa he had read in the past called 'Nano machine'. Maybe that was the only reason his was still even remotely interested in the book.
[Beginners manual(Rare grade)-Contains the most basic information for those interacting with the spirit record for the first time.]
That was it. That was all the information he could get through the system. The explanation was so…bland. It wouldn't even arouse most people's curiosity at all.
'What nonsense is this? Rare grade?' Jordan wondered. Why make something with 'basic' information as Rare grade? It felt more like Common grade to him.
Jordan felt like he was about to cry but he took solace in the fact that he had received an incredible set of armor.
"Uh Rina cold you heal be up please?" Jordan winced. With his adrenalin going down he was finally feeling the weight of his injuries. Right now even though he was receiving the extra stats from the armor it didn't change the fact that he was a sitting duck, though it would be best to call him a sitting duck with a machine gun but a sitting duck regardless.
"Okay" Rina rushed to his side carefully stepping around the colossal ravid's corpse that was still standing impaled through the back of its neck. She squatted at his side and stretched out her arms to him. She activated her lesser healing skill and a green glow escaped seeped from her hands and entered Jordan's body.
A warm sensation flowed over his body and he felt relaxed for a moment before he suddenly felt irritated. His entire body felt uncomfortable like he had an itch that he just couldn't scratched. This was a sign that his cells were regenerating at a faster rate than should have been remotely possible.
Jordan groaned.
But soon the irritation subsided and he felt that he could at least be able to move without feeling as if his insides were being clawed at. He tried to stand but his legs were still weak so Rina supported him as she pushed his left arm over her shoulder. Like that the two walked towards the entrance of the office building or at least what was left of it.
They ignored the broken and splintered wood of what used to be desks and stepped out into the street using the broken wall.
Just when they got into the open street
Bang!
They heard a loud noise coming from the distance.
There was no mistaking it. That was gunshot.
…
Moments after Rina had left Candice she did as she had promised and she got to work on the ravids. She swung out her arms and with each swing a ravid would fall. The creatures didn't seem to be a match for her so she normally wouldn't have that much of a problem except that in this case the main issue were the large numbers of the ravids as well as her limited stamina that was dropping at a rapid pace. The ravids now number a total of 30 ravids and they seemed to still be coming after her.
Seeing that her tactic of using the dagger wasn't going to work out that well Candice put it away temporary and lined up her arms in front of her.
"[Light ray]" she consumed her mana and activated her active skill. Almost immediately light particles gathered in her hands before a concentrated beam of scotching white light exploded forth burrowing and tearing through ravids as though a they were made up of nothing more that sheets of paper. By the time the beam blinked out of existence, thirteen ravids dropped to the ground with holes in their chests the size of two adult fists.
Candice was panted. Her face pale from all the consumption of her mana and she even felt dizzy but she bit her tongue to fight it off. After leveling up all the to level 10 it seemed that killing over thirty low level ravids could hardly even put a dent into her soul essence. At it point it was highly likely that one would have to kill over a hundred low leveled creatures before they would be pushed to the next level and even after that the amount and quality of soul essence needed to push for higher levels would only increase meaning leveling up would no longer be as easy as it had once been.
In fact if it wasn't due to Huey's heaven defying luck of encountering his first second star order enemy regardless of it being over the threshold that separated the boundaries of the First Star Order and the Second. It was luck regardless and even until now it was due to that encounter that reached levels as high as Level 14.
That aside it was clear as day that Candice was getting overwhelmed. She here light ray attack had eliminated thirteen ravids in total leaving behind a total of seventeen ravids remaining.
Candice grit her teeth and just as she prepared to move her tense body
Bang!
A loud noise akin to the sound of thunder exploded from above before the head of a ravid in the distance exploded in a rain of blood. Candice stood in a daze for a moment but that wasn't the end of it.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Numerous similar explosions took place like the symphony of an orchestra…well a heavy metal orchestra that is.
Head after head of ravids blow open and holes the size of baby fists bore into the bodies of multiple ravids before they too dropped in a puddle of blood. It was a that moment that Candice realized that these loud noises were actually gun fire coming from above. Candice looked up to see who had come to her rescue. She saw a group of what seemed like ten people holding up firearms three of which were holding up shotguns while nine others held what appeared to be handguns. Leaving only one person not carrying a firearm but his presence alone was overbearing. He held a switchblade in his hand and his posture was leisurely. His leg was raised to the ledge of the building while he rested his elbow on top of his knee looking down at the proceedings with a smile as though everything was well.
Candice froze the second she saw this man. Her beautiful black eyes narrowed as her gaze fixed onto this man who had dreadlocks for hair and when the man turned his gaze at her and smiled? She could only produce one thought.
'Not good'
