Chapter 83:Long night

Taking that into account the only way of getting to London was the London Bridge however. Blocking that path was the forest full of unknowns and a major variable that was also an unknown.

"Dammit" I couldn't help but curse. "Its like the difficulty of the game has been raised from hard to nightmare mode"

It was frustrating. Very much so that I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs and yet I couldn't even dare to do so for fear of being attacked.

Currently my mana, stamina and shadow had all hit rock bottom. I had used up everything to get away as fast and as far away as possible from whatever it was that made me even with a 40% boost as well as the additional stats from absorbing the Dire wolf's soul essence feel afraid to a level that almost made me feel powerless.

'Lets see what I got first' I thought as I tried to pick out one of the four drops that the wolf had dropped but when I caught sight of my hand my mood couldn't help but sink even further.

Even though I was holding onto treasures and even though I was as far awy as possible from the abomination in the forest. My hands were still shaking.

I hadn't completely gotten over my raking nerves.

I grit my and push on.

Currently in my lap there were actually four item drops. Three of them were skill scrolls while the other one was a red orb, a rare grade treasure.

I decided to check out the rare grade treasure later and placed the baseball sized round object in my pocket before giving my attention to the skill scrolls.

These I would work on first.

Picking up the first scroll I read its stats.

[ First star order Passive skill Level 5-Permanently increases agility stat by +40 points]

The description was simple and straight forward and yet I couldn't help but appreciate the value of this skill. I didn't even take a second as soon as I finished reading the description I learned it.

[You have learned the First star order level 5 passive skill . Agility +40]

I grinned like a mad man while mentally rubbing my hands together.

'I wonder what else I'm gonna get'

With that thought I picked up the second skill scroll

[ First Star Order Level 5 Active Skill- creates and releases an explosive flame that can melt through most defenses of existences below level 40 from the palm of the users.

Mana Cost: 40 mana for activation

Cooldown time: 45 seconds.

Passive effect: Heat resistance +20%]

Again I didn't waste a second and learned the skill. A flood of information was directly implanted in my head. For a moment I felt a headache and then in the next it was gone as though the pain had been nothing but an illusion.

'Last one' I looked towards the last skill scroll.

[ First Star Order level 5 passive skill- Permanently increases durability of the body by 20%]

[You have learned First star order level 5 passive skill ]

And with that I had learned 2 active skills through skill scrolls which meant that I had 3 more chances to learn more in the future as a first star order however looking at the way things were progressing Is wasn't too worried.

There was no doubt that I'd reach the second star order in no time.

With that out of the way I took my attention to the red orb that contained the rare grade treasure and gave it a squeeze.

It exploded with a faint light before it was replaced with something else.

I couldn't really see it clearly due to the darkness but when I read its stats I could help my excitement. Finally…finally I too had an armor for myself so to speak.

[Full Coat {Rare grade}-Piece of clothing that is both sturdy and comfortable. It protects the wearer from extreme weather conditions by keeping the body temperature at the optimal temperature. It is capable of handling attacks as long as they are not too destructive.

Effect 1: Passively increases all stat by 30

Effect 2: Increases defense by 150

Effect 3: Capable of reflecting 20% of the damage received (one time use)]

Reading the description I was doing summersaults in my head as well as dancing in delight. My heart was filled with glee.

I didn't know the numerical degree of defense but obviously 150 had to be big right? And from what had observed from the Spirit Record, the higher the numbers shown were the better things would be and the other effects were pretty sweet and would no doubt come in handy.

It was just a shame that the effect could only be used once.

'I real shame indeed' I thought as I rose up to my feet. 'Welp on the bright side. I now have clothes that won't tear with every battle so that a plus'

Pulled on the [Full coat] and although I couldn't really make out its looks due to the darkness, it was comfortable nonetheless. The sleeves were long and covered both of my arms which would do good to hide the injury the 'Dire wolf' had left.

I had rested enough to recover a considerable amount of mana and stamina.

It was time to head back. This had been a very long night…or at least it felt that way. Peaking from the alley, I looked around. There was a ravid passing by but it was relatively weak so there was nothing to really worry there.

Aside from that there was pretty much nothing else.

'Okay' I nodded to myself and took off too fast for the ravid to catch up to me even after it noticed.

The return to the camp was relatively easy. Once I was within its range I slipped into my shadow using slipping past the gates and back into the quiet town. I came out of the shadow behind a building away from prying eyes of course before heading in the direction of the house.

It wasn't long before I was back in the warmth of my bed completely exhausted and overwhelmed by this night's events.

"This was supposed to be a simple trip and yet it went completely out of control…I didn't even get halfway…through…"

I drifted off to sleep
