The next day, Amara left the capital on a carriage lent by Edward, and she was accompanied by Vida. She watched the passing houses and streets through the window with melancholic eyes. She was finally leaving the place she grew up with, and would step into a realm she didn't know existed not long ago.
"You'll be okay. I'm sure they will love you," Vida took her hands and squeezed it, giving her a reassuring smile.
Amara smiled back and squeezed her friend's hands tighter. She hid the sadness she kept feeling from their impending separation, and decided to fill their last moments together with random chitchats.
Soon after, they arrived at the transit point where the portal can be opened. As soon as they stepped into the vicinity, a strong wind swirled and settled in the center and created a vortex, then the white portal appeared, and the wind subsided.
Amara took a deep breath, before she stepped inside the portal, mumbling a silent goodbye to Avendelle.
