68. Doubts and suspicions

"A mage is working with them…" Hansel murmured as he approached the gazebo.

Azer surveyed the whole surroundings. Aside from the path they came out from, there were no other means of exit or even another entrance. There was nothing amiss as well. Bricked walls covered with flowers creeping from the ground to the roof. Even the gazebo's old structure was covered with wildflowers and cracked parts.

The round-shaped garden looked like just an unmaintained one, and only the narrow path from the passageway to the gazebo was the only trace that humans trod upon that place, as that path was the only part where grass didn't grow.

"Where could this portal be connected to?" Hansel caught Azer's attention. Azer stood beside Hansel and stared down at the magic circle, but there was no indication of where it was headed. The coordinates that should have been written on the outer circle were missing.
