85. Rejection

Two days later, Zenus had finally stepped out of the dark and grimy dungeon after more than a week of imprisonment. He was beginning to lose hope that the second prince had changed his mind and decided to ignore Dionne's threats.

He breathed in the fresh air of the night breeze. A smile broke on his lips, but his eyes glint with maliciousness. If he finds any opening, he'll kill the knights and escape. There was no certainty that the second prince would just let him go.

He was in such a good mood until the knight holding the ends of his chain pulled him aggressively, almost making him topple over. Luckily, before he slammed his face on the ground, he yanked the chains more forcefully, making the guard falter, and then he used his hands to break his fall.

He bared his fangs to the knight and even dared attack him, but another knight on his back pulled the chain connected to his collar, so his head jerked back and he ended up falling backward.

Thud!
