[62] New Work

Chapter 62: New Work

After a day's work, Yuta earned a total of fifty thousand yen by the end of the day, which was the amount female customers tipped him.

Aoi Kiriyama was driving the car. She glanced at Yuta next to her and then looked back at the road ahead.

"It seems you're quite suited for this job."

Yuta put the money in his pocket, knowing it was earned by putting on a good face.

"I'll work another day tomorrow, but school is starting soon and there's a lot at home that needs to be taken care of."

Aoi had already prepared herself mentally for this and didn't try to keep Yuta. "If you have free time in the future, you can come here to earn some extra cash."

Yuta wasn't interested in this kind of side income, but he didn't say so directly.

"I'm thinking about starting a company recently. What kind of business do you think would be good?"

Yuta casually asked, not having anyone else to discuss this with aside from Aoi.

"Start a company? Do you have the money? Starting a business isn't something you can do with just a few hundred thousand." Aoi thought Yuta was being overconfident, thinking making money was that easy.

"Of course. I actually already have a company, or rather, a small factory."

Upon hearing that Yuta truly had a company, Aoi pulled the car over to the side of the road and started having a proper conversation with Yuta.

"What kind of company?"

Yuta explained, "It's a bankrupt plastic factory that was auctioned off, with just over ten people. After I took over, I restored its production capacity and it's now profitable. I hope to establish a more lucrative business."

"A plastic factory?" Aoi wasn't familiar with this. She wasn't someone who could handle business, so she couldn't help Yuta with this matter.

Yuta had yet to decide exactly what he wanted to do. As he looked at the sky gradually darkening outside and at Aoi, a thought suddenly struck him.

"Aoi, what does your father do? What kind of company does he run?"

Aoi didn't realize the significance of the question and couldn't guess Yuta's thoughts at the moment. She answered directly, "His company manufactures cars, working in different countries every year, and the cars are sold globally."

"Then I'll start with an auto repair shop and become the owner of a car manufacturing company within a year." Yuta was originally a technical engineer, familiar with this line of work, and most importantly, he found it intriguing.

Aoi looked at Yuta, "What are you thinking?"

"Nothing much, just want to prove I'm a bit better than your father," Yuta said with a smile.

Aoi restarted the car and continued driving towards Yuta's home, calmly saying, "I'm looking forward to it, but I don't think you can do it."

Yuta replied, "I don't see it that way. It's just a matter of time."

"Alright, I'll remember that and look forward to your performance." Aoi thought that for Yuta to surpass her father would take at least a decade, dismissing it as youthful bravado.

Yuta got out of the car a little distance from home. After arranging with Aoi to pick him up at the same spot the next day, they parted ways.

Compared to Kaoruko, Aoi was more agreeable to be around. She always interacted with Yuta calmly and openly.

Being with Aoi felt natural.

Of course, as long as she didn't call him "Daddy."

Yuta still preferred women older than himself...

Starting an auto repair shop was a fitting plan for Yuta. Without delving into other aspects, an auto repair shop could resolve many issues.

Goons might dare demand protection money from a print shop, but would they dare target a repair shop with over twenty people?

With more people, the advantages increased. Yuta was quite concerned about the local gangs with a semblance of legitimacy, and some means of self-defense were necessary.

Car ownership was widespread, with almost every household owning a vehicle, though most were on loan...

With so many cars, a repair shop wouldn't lose too much money. Yuta didn't expect the repair shop to be highly profitable; he just needed an industry he could expand upon.

Primarily, he wanted to protect Sora and Miu. Since seeing that female manager in the family restaurant fiercely beat up a customer, Yuta had gained a better understanding of this country's "vigorous social groups."

After returning home, Yuta checked out the reward he received for completing a task as a nail art assistant.

Nail Art Assistant: Learn basic nail art techniques.

Task Reward: Novel version of "White Album 2," including all volumes with exquisite illustrations.

The reward appeared directly in the spot where he kept his books. After opening the thick folder, Yuta started browsing through the novel.

Previously, he had received a drawing skill from completing a task, which wasn't particularly useful to him.

Yuta used to draw design schematics, focusing on neatness and structure, obeying precise rules.

However, the drawing skill from the system was more like drawing manga.

While both involved drawing, the nature of each was different. Most artists wouldn't draw schematics, yet for someone like Yuta, who could sketch complete car designs inside and out, drawing pictures wasn't difficult.

Though they were only simple drawings, Yuta couldn't previously create anime characters. An engine designer doesn't typically design anime figures.

Observing the illustrations and the novel in hand, Yuta remembered Machida Sonoko mentioning a competition, so he opened his laptop to check. He found that the registration period hadn't ended yet.

Before uploading his entry as number 303, Yuta took a moment to familiarize himself with his work.

Originally, he planned just to glance through it and then rest, but he found himself reading from a bit past six in the evening until two in the morning.

Rather than a novel, it felt more like a game.

As for the novel's content, his impression was... stomach-churning, anxiety-inducing!

After exploring all the plotlines and endings, Yuta published the novel that caused him such anxiety and distress.

Yuta believed that the novel wasn't suitable for publication in its current form. Instead, he thought adapting it into a game would be the best route for the story.

He used his usual pen name, "August 9th, Weather: Clear."

After reading the novel, Yuta mischievously published more than half of the prologue, leaving just the final part of the conclusion unpublished, curious to see how readers would react.

As for the illustrations in the first volume, Yuta took screenshots with his phone and uploaded them to his computer.

With pictures, the story becomes more vivid!
