[74] Let's Add Some Fun to the Mahjong Rules

Chapter 74: Let's Add Some Fun to the Mahjong Rules

To ensure that Aoi Kiriyama and Kaoruko Fujiwara would comfortably stay over for the night, Yuta went to the mall to buy a mahjong table.

After returning, he took a nap, thinking that staying up late required being in good physical shape.

"I'm back!"

When Miu returned, she immediately started looking for Yuta in the living room, feeling uneasy about leaving Sasha and Yuta alone at home.

"You're back. What would you like to eat tonight?" Sasha asked with concern, noticing her daughter had returned.

Because of what happened earlier that day, Miu was on guard around Sasha. Frowning, she asked, "Where's Onii-chan?"

"Yuta? He's resting in the tatami room. Some friends are coming over tonight to discuss something, and they might stay over. So, he temporarily switched rooms with me," Sasha briefly explained, though she wasn't clear on the details either.

Miu had many questions but decided not to ask Sasha and instead headed toward the tatami room.

"Miu, dinner will be quite lavish. Is there anything you'd like to eat?" Sasha asked again as Miu was about to leave.

"Whatever!" Miu replied curtly before sliding open the tatami room door, where she found Yuta sitting on the futon. "Onii-chan, are your friends really coming tonight? Why did you switch rooms?"

Yuta explained, "It's Professor Fujiwara, whom you've met before, and another woman, the owner of the place where I used to work. I have some things to discuss with them, and it felt inconvenient to be alone, so I asked Sasha to join me."

Hearing that both friends were women, Miu accepted Sasha's involvement.

After all, compared to women outside, Sasha posed a lesser threat.

With Sasha around, they only needed to watch out for her!

"What exactly are you discussing?" Miu asked, curious as to why these two women would be staying overnight.

Yuta found it hard to explain the details. "It's about past and future matters. They've helped me out before, so I need to show my gratitude. This has nothing to do with you all. The two of them can be a bit difficult to deal with, so try not to engage with them too much."

Miu nodded, not fully understanding but sensing it was something important.

Yuta went to the kitchen to help Sasha with dinner while Sasha picked up Hina from kindergarten. Through Miu's introduction, Sora also learned a bit about the situation.

At dinner, Kaoruko Fujiwara and Aoi Kiriyama arrived on time.

Neither of them were particularly talkative.

Aoi remained as cold and strong-willed as ever, even when interacting with Hina, not offering the usual praises adults give children for being well-behaved.

She stayed calm and aloof.

Kaoruko, on the other hand, was more adept at interacting with others.

Though her expression didn't change much, with just a few words, she managed to make Hina warm up to her, while Sora and Miu remained cautious.

In terms of personality, Sasha has a natural childlike innocence.

Aoi is the type who doesn't care much about what others think.

If she doesn't like something, she won't say it. She's the kind of person who lives by her own rules—if she doesn't get something, she's fine with that.

She isn't clingy like most women and rarely expresses her thoughts.

Kaoruko, on the other hand, is the type who, if she wants something, will find a way to get it.

On the positive side, you could say she has a strong will and is highly strategic!

When the children went upstairs to sleep, and it became adult time, the atmosphere in the living room settled into a quiet calm.

Neither Aoi nor Kaoruko spoke. Aoi, in particular, looked especially cold at this moment.

"Let's... talk in the bedroom," Yuta suggested, standing up to invite the three women into the master bedroom, where the soundproofing was better.

When the master bedroom was designed, things like soundproofing were definitely taken into consideration.

"Sure, I'll go prepare some snacks," Sasha said.

She felt somewhat overshadowed by Aoi and Kaoruko.

Though Sasha was beautiful too, compared to these two, not only was she slightly less attractive, but her overall demeanor also lacked their aura.

Aoi had the presence of a commanding, mature woman, while Kaoruko exuded a refined elegance, especially the latter, who was practically the epitome of a perfect woman.

After Sasha left, Yuta relaxed a little. "No more nonsense. Follow me."

His direct command made Kaoruko raise her eyebrow slightly, but she followed without complaint.

Aoi, though reluctant, also followed him. Once inside the master bedroom, she said to Yuta, "Just because I don't dislike you doesn't mean I enjoy being around other women..."

It wasn't just Sasha; Aoi also didn't like Kaoruko.

Aoi's personality allowed her to easily voice her opinions, and Kaoruko, being aware of this, didn't take offense.

Yuta didn't offer any explanation, as Sasha had just come in with a fruit platter.

"Miss Kiriyama, Miss Fujiwara, would you like something to eat?" Sasha asked politely, setting the platter on the table and offering it to the two women.

Neither of them made a move, instead staring at Yuta, clearly expecting him to explain himself.

Seeing Aoi and Kaoruko's gazes, Yuta reached to the side and pulled out a mahjong set. "How about we play mahjong? Perfect timing—four of us!"

"We came here just to play mahjong?" Aoi glared at Yuta, clearly frustrated. This was definitely not what she came for!

She had mentally prepared herself, even thought through all the things she needed to be cautious about. And now he was telling her they were here to play mahjong? Was he playing a joke?

Kaoruko crossed her arms, standing there with her eyes closed, clearly unimpressed. Mahjong was definitely not the reason she came over either.

Yuta's decision to play mahjong came to him after he got back. Originally, he had told both women they were coming over to spend the night, leading Kaoruko and Aoi to assume Yuta had something more intimate in mind, possibly involving Sasha as well.

Sasha, unaware of the full situation, noticed Aoi's anger and cautiously suggested, "Yuta, maybe talk things over first? Once you've discussed things, then you can play mahjong."

But what was there for Yuta to discuss? Today, either nothing would happen, or everything would happen. Which was it going to be?

Clearly, Aoi and Kaoruko had no issues with the situation—they wouldn't have come otherwise, which meant they were on board. However, Sasha was definitely not the type to participate in such things.

As Yuta hesitated, Kaoruko opened her eyes and stared directly at him.

"Playing mahjong is fine, but just playing would be a bit boring. How about the winner of each round gets to ask the others to do something? What do you think?"
