[78] One of the Three Great Beauties of the University...

Chapter 78: One of the Three Great Beauties of the University...

On the first day of university, there weren't many classes scheduled. For many students, attending university was more about passing the time, with only a few truly focusing on their studies.

Though Yuta was in the literature department at Tama University, there were also science and engineering courses available.

And as with any university, discussions about girls were inevitable. While sitting in class, Yuta found himself recalling some of the rumors circulating on campus—two names, in particular, stood out.

One of the two was a beauty from the literature department, Oda Raika, a year ahead of Yuta and also Kaoruko's niece.

Though she was in the literature department, Oda Raika was not only ranked first in the entire university in terms of entrance scores, but she also had exceptional athletic talent.

During gym class, she single-handedly defeated every member of the tennis club without letting them score a single point.

Because of her prowess in both academics and sports, combined with her eccentric personality and tendency to do odd things, despite being extremely beautiful, no one at school dared to pursue her—or rather, those who did ended up failing.

The other notable figure was a beauty from the science department, someone named Mishima Sayoko. It was rumored that she was the heiress of the Mishima Group, which made her quite wealthy.

She seemed more "normal," as she had a lot of popularity on campus and even referred to herself as a queen…

"Well... that's not exactly normal either," Yuta thought. Perhaps beautiful girls all had their quirks—maybe that wasn't such a strange thing after all.

Bored, Yuta waited for class to end. He barely followed any of the lessons, given that he wasn't a literature major to begin with. While he understood the words the professor was saying in isolation, when strung together, they made no sense to him.

Glancing around the classroom, he noticed a few scattered students, most either playing on their phones or dozing off, which only made the class feel even duller.

Yuta, lost in his own thoughts, took advantage of the quiet to contemplate his future.

The "+1 Luck" reward from the system puzzled him. It sounded like a great bonus, but Yuta hadn't noticed anything particularly lucky happening today.

However, Yuta wasn't too concerned about the system's rewards. After failing to figure out its significance, he brushed it off. Out of boredom, he began using the drawing skills he had gained to sketch in his notebook.

Though the skills were meant for drawing manga, Yuta, uninterested in that at the moment, decided to draw a car design instead.

As he sketched, something felt off...!

In the past, Yuta's sketches were always precise and well-structured, but today's design was different. The usual clarity in the outlines and components was missing, and to his shock, the way the lines and parts came together gave off an eerie resemblance to a human face!

"What the…?!" Yuta immediately tore the paper to shreds.

"Damn it! That scared the life out of me!"

He stared at his hands, tense and confused. "How did I even draw something like that?"

This sudden change baffled him.

As a technician who relied heavily on his knowledge of technology from his previous life, Yuta had planned to sell some of those technological designs—specifically car blueprints, which were ideal for making money.

These designs didn't provide much personal benefit, but converting them into cash would allow him to invest in more advanced technological products.

However, despite having a clear image in his mind, the design on paper came out noticeably different from what he had envisioned.

Sure, if it were manufactured, it probably wouldn't have any major issues, but it was still frustrating. In simple terms, the style had changed!

Determined to figure it out, Yuta tried again, focusing all his energy on keeping his hand steady and preventing any deviation from his usual drawing style.

This time, the sketch looked normal again. But by the time he finished, class was already over.

After finishing the day's lessons, Yuta realized he didn't have much enthusiasm for his university life moving forward.

"I really think I should switch departments," Yuta muttered to himself. It was becoming clear that he wasn't cut out for the literature department. He had no talent for it. He'd be much better off twisting screws, welding, or working with machine tools.

Being a man of action, Yuta decided to go see the university president and initiate the process for a transfer.

However... he couldn't find the president!

In fact, not only was the president nowhere to be found, but even his homeroom teacher was missing.

"What kind of trash school is this? Not even working on the first day of classes?!"

Yuta cursed under his breath and decided to just head home.

As Yuta exited the school gates, it was already half an hour after classes had ended, yet the walkway beside the playground was still bustling with people.

"What's all the commotion over there?"

"What else could it be? It's the boys fawning over Sayoko!"

"Isn't it always like this? Every day!"

"What can you do? She's the daughter of the president of the Mishima Group and stunningly beautiful. Of course, she attracts attention."

"Not just beautiful; she has a way of charming those boys. That's real talent!"

"True, while there's another girl in this university who can match Sayoko in looks and athletic ability, it's a pity that woman doesn't know how to socialize, so no men approach her."

As Yuta walked past a group of girls, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance at their bitter remarks. Out of curiosity, he glanced in the direction they were talking about and spotted a beautiful girl with long hair.

This girl gave off an air of calmness, seemingly unfazed by the many boys surrounding her, presenting her with flowers and gifts. She didn't even offer a token smile, yet her demeanor didn't feel cold. Rather, it seemed like she was perfectly accustomed to being in the spotlight.

Mishima Sayoko may have attracted attention, but compared to Fujiwara, she lacked certain qualities. Yuta didn't dwell on her and preferred older women instead.

He continued walking toward the school gate but soon noticed that most people ahead were looking in another direction. When he followed their gaze, he recognized another prominent figure on campus approaching him.

One of the three campus beauties—Oda Raika.

Raika had learning abilities that surpassed Sayoko's by a significant margin!

Her cuteness was on a whole different level!

Her confidence was off the charts!

Her athleticism exceeded expectations!

And she stood taller too!

In simple terms, at 1.65 meters, Raika completely outclassed Sayoko, who was only 1.60 meters tall in many aspects.

Unfortunately, Raika was quite adept at rejecting boys, whereas Sayoko always had a throng of admirers around her and came from a family background that was even more prestigious than Raika's. As a result, she naturally received more attention.

To put it plainly, the boys perceived Sayoko as being easier to approach, and they believed she could offer them more in the future.

Yet, even knowing that Raika was an unattainable beauty like a frozen flower, many couldn't help but steal glances in her direction—after all, she was stunning!

As Yuta watched Raika walk toward him, he sensed that her approach was anything but friendly.
