The End

At the same time, Mrs. Carter found a way to bring Sam and Susan's parents together in a classy restaurant.

Just by thinking about the burning betrayal that was bestowed upon her daughter, she couldn't place any order and thankfully, she only had to wait for a few minutes before her guests started to arrive.

As soon as both parents sat down around the table and exchanged pleasantries, Mrs. Carter held back a little and allowed them to place their order before getting ready to reveal the biggest secret.

"Jessica, it's so good to see you after a while," Susan's mother, Mrs. Young said with a big smile on her face.

Even though she was curious as to what reason the other woman had to invite another family they were not too familiar with, to the catching up she had to do with them, she relaxed for a bit since everything would still be let out in the open.

To Mrs. Young's greeting, Mrs, Carter only smiled. She couldn't lie and say she felt the same way regarding the other woman because, at the moment, she was starting to question her upbringing tactics towards raising her daughter, Susan.

"You know Sam, right?" Mrs. Carter asked, then without waiting for her response, she gestured towards the Hollands and continued with her introduction. "This is his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Holland."

Mrs. Carter didn't want to hear the other woman address Sam as her daughter's boyfriend hence, the reason to hurry and move forward, after all, she didn't have that kind of time to listen to nonsense.

With Mrs, Carter setting the pace right, the Youngs and the Hollands exchanged pleasantries and soon, their wine order arrived.

As the waiter poured some of the dark red liquid into each of their wine glasses, Mrs. Young looked towards Mrs. Carter and said, "Jessica, it's so weird to call us out of the blue, and I believe that there must be a reason for this meeting."

Hearing that, Mrs. Carter lifted her wine glass and let out a short breath before proceeding to have a taste. When she put her wine glass down, she met the other woman's gaze before speaking up.

"It would have been better if you tried the wine first before we got right into the conversation, but since you are so curious, I will spill the beans."

As Anna's mother started speaking, her gaze turned serious. Before, she had wanted to do both families the favour of allowing them to enjoy the bottle of good wine, but since the busybody Mrs. Young wanted to miss out on the good wine, she would help them to the news.

But with her facial expression currently, the couple could see that there was something serious she had to say, and they got the notch that it wouldn't be a good one.

"As you both know, my daughter is good friends with Susan, and they literally grew up together and on the other hand, she has been dating Sam for two years. But what you all don't know is that the two people my daughter trusted, who are your children, betrayed her in the most unfortunate way."

Mrs. Carter did not let any reaction made by any of the couples slip past her eyes. She wanted to know what they were thinking and as expected, they were shocked, courtesy of the unbelievable expressions on their faces.

"Jessica, I don't understand. Can you speak plainly?" Mrs. Young asked with an edge to her tone.

As expected, she was Susan's mother. Susan must have gotten most of her personality from her mother. The apple sure does not fall far off from its tree.

"Your daughter, Susan, had the heart to steal her best friend's boyfriend Sam, and they have both been cheating for almost a year."

Immediately, Mrs. Holland leaned in and asked, "What are you talking about?"

Mr. Holland: "That's impossible!"

Mr. Young stared at Mrs. Carter with a stern expression on his face, "Where did you hear that from?"

Mrs. Young clicked her tongue and asked, "Do you have any evidence?"

Mrs, Carter scoffed as she moved her gaze from one person to the other. "Of course, I have evidence. Do I look like an irresponsible mother who would pick up some lies to spread them without confirming them?"

As Mrs, Carter said she had the evidence, she pulled out her phone from her bag and sent the picture evidence to both couple's phones so they could have a look for themselves.

"I don't know how your children turned out to be this kind of people who will betray their friends without a shred of conscience left to stop them. Is this what friendship has turned into these days? No one can be trusted?"

The more Anna's mother said, the more her tone got harsher. She became increasingly furious and just wanted to let loose and tell those parents sitting before her what she actually had in mind.

But as she saw no reason in acting below her class, she picked up her wine glass and had a large gulp she let them go through the pictures she sent them while letting out gasps of shock and little mutterings that she didn't allow to get to her ears.

"This can't be," Mrs. Young uttered under her breath as the side parting she did on her hair fell to cover her face. Annoyed by the vision blockage, she immediately pushed the hair behind her.

"Sam can do something like this?" Mr. Holland asked with a bitter expression on his face.

Mrs. Carter poured more wine into her glass and continued to drink, but when she felt the time was up, she drew the attention of the couples from their phones back to her.

"This is the reason I wanted us to meet because I thought it right to let you know what your children were up to. My daughter doesn't deserve to be treated in that way, especially after everything she has been through."

Hearing that, Mrs. Young quickly pleaded, "Jessica, I am so sorry that my son treated your daughter so badly. I and his father didn't raise him to be an unfaithful man. I-I… We will talk to him."

"Yes," Mrs, Carter said and quickly finished her drink. She was already slipping her phone inside her bag and preparing to leave when Mrs. Young asked, "W-What do you mean?"

Confusion was written all over the woman's face as she didn't seem to get the entire message. She still hoped that Mrs, Carter would explain things to her in layman's terms.

What did she mean by, 'Go ahead and talk to him so he doesn't treat another woman the same way he treated my precious daughter?'

Was that the symbol of the end of the relationship?
