Hope

Ghost Demon had his face revealed and his suit hidden under a long jacket. The cloak was in his dimension ring. He decided the best course of action when seeing new faces wandering the city. He went to his favorite food stand, but it was gone. Lost probably to poverty or to the arena he didn't know. He looked at the city as he walked, seeing it for barely hanging on. The army and brigade fairing better than most leading to their population skyrocket. Here you join the military or you eventually become a sacrifice to the arena. With all other avenues to make a living dwindled to a handful this city is hopelessly dying. Even his attempts weren't getting the job done. He hoped that one day the King Slayer would come and rid the realm of the king. But after hearing rumors of him going missing he didn't get more information than that. That was a long time ago information was becoming harder to get and that even led to him getting bad intel.

Alas he was starting to feel hopeful now with a group acting alone. He would hope that he could get their help, but he also thought he may have to eliminate them as well. It wasn't ideal to turn down help, but if that ally is worse than the enemy then they have to be eliminated. He finally approached a noodle shop and went inside. He saw people sitting about eating. And in the corner he could see a man in dark grey uniform sitting with a stack of bowls. He was big with spiked black hair and goatee with piercing blue eyes. He looked out of place compared to the patrons around him. His entire outfit was cleaner than most, he looked hearty, and didn't look to be a soldier. He was definitely not someone from this city. In the War Realm there were several cities past the red desert. But it took weeks and it was dangerous with the giant chaos worms that roam its sands.

He acted casual and sat at a table with a direct view to the man in the corner. He seemed pleasant to the staff and smiled big causing the waitress to smile back. Even laughing he didn't come off as a bad person and didn't give off any negative chi.

The man he spotted was Smiling and he was waiting for Red and Sun to arrive. They decided to train separately before getting something to eat. Smiling couldn't train on an empty stomach so he went and got food first. Ghost watched him sipping tea and eating a bowl of noodles. The door chimed causing him to point his gaze at the door. Seeing Red and Sun Demon walking through it. They approached the table of Smiling. Each sitting across from him. They seemed to be in a conversation. The big man then paid and after this they got up and walked out. Ghost finished his food and left money on the table. He walked out slowly, careful not to look in a hurry. He stepped out on the street and could see the three crossing the street. He didn't follow directly. He turned down an alleyway and walked alongside them out of sight as they walked down the block. The three seemed to be waiting for something as they stopped at a dead end street.

Ghost Demon wasn't far from them when Red Demon turned and looked scanned around looking for something. "We know you're following us. I see you got our message?" he said loudly. Ghost Demon squinted and then shook his head, 'Damn this guy is good. Couldn't even hide from him?' he sighed and pulled out his mask and put it on. He adjusted it and then stepped out of the shadows. "You have my attention?" said walking slowly towards them. He stood ten feet from them keeping a good distance in case of escape, or need to defend. Red Demon held up his hands in surrender, "Not here to fight you. Just want to talk about Ghost Demon?" the vigilante looked at all three hard before walking towards a wall and leaning against it. "What is it you want to talk about? Cleaning up Blood Sword was quite the feat" he said all this with sarcasm. He didn't want them to know he was impressed. "About you joining us?" Red was blunt and straight to the point. "Join you? Who the hell are you people anyway?" Red was silent. 'This guy is weary and his aura is giving off signs of weariness towards us? Can't blame him' he thought. "Were the Red Cohort; I'm Red Demon, this is Sun Demon and the big guy behind me is Smiling Demon. I am the King Slayer" this last bit seemed to drive Ghost Demon to being skeptical. "Heard the Slayer was missing after some unfortunate circumstances in the Ash Realm?" he wasn't going to take this confession at face value.

Red Demon shrugged, "Must not get the news here. I was in the Tech Realm recently. I'll admit I was missing for awhile, but found my path. Which involves you being part of that journey" this made Ghost Demon laugh. "That sounded lame as you said it? Very poetic, so I am to be part of your journey? Who told you this nonsense?" his laugh was broken after hearing his answer. "Sister Spinner. Fate has chosen all four of us to rid the world of the great evil that comes with the Nexus which is in the possession of the Void King. We are all endowed with a Thread of Necessity, a greater purpose to the normal status quo if you will. I have formed this team in hopes of shedding the new regimes and save the Dream Universe" Ghost Demon fell silent as he was lost in thought. "How am I to trust anything you have said?" Red Demon produced a uniform and the bracelet. "These are gifts from the Sister Spinner herself" he extended the folded clothes and bracelet out. Ghost Demon stared at the trinket and the clothing "Let's say I would join you? What is your plans for this realm?" under Red Demon's mask he smiled. "Simple. We kill the king, save your realm and then leave. It's that simple" Ghost Demon nodded. "I can't very well destroy the system and leave before saving the city from itself, sorry that isn't good enough" he began to turn and leave. "You really think that? The World will crown a new king who will need to fix your realm. Saving the city and this realm is your only job once you fulfill that then you will be free to leave without regrets" Ghost Demon heard his words and stared at the gifts again. "My family, my organization, and friends have all been taken by this king in some form or another. I'm losing this fight. I can freely admit that. Nothing I have done has changed anything its made things worse" he shook his head trying to shake away the guilt. "But I just can't leave the mess I have brought here. These people deserve better, "the Red Demon nodded at this. "You're right they do. The World will choose someone worthy of being a king who will save these people from the corrupted systems in place. I can understand your fear and guilt towards walking away. But once you kill the king your use here will be over. No one will follow a vigilante with blood on their hands. You have given them some semblance of hope, let the hungry people here gorge on hope by crowning a new king?" Ghost Demon was hesitant, but then he reached out and took the gifts. "Thank you. I will join you once this is all over. Come Ill take you to my hideout we can talk further there in private" the clothes retracted into his ring. He put the bracelet over his wrist staring at the ghostly demon mask upon it. 'She even knew what mask I had etched into it? Fate is truly remarkable' he thought, staring at the braided gold.
