The Truth

"Hmm, now let me ask you this.....is the boy dead?" The level 4 warlock, Bartholomew, asked Leon with eyes filled with seriousness.

The entire Dalriss household was sure that the boy was still alive, but what Leon had just said was a process painful enough to kill whomsoever was being operated on.

"No, he's dead...he died screaming" Leon replied with calm. It wasn't like the warlocks liked the mages anyway….they wouldn't sell him out, at least. And if they tried, he could easily disappear again.

"Ohhhhh" Bartholomew sighed in disappointment. Leon was still a kid at the end of the day, he only saw so far ahead in the future. If not, he would have kept the boy alive. Then they would ransom him for resources from the dalriss family.

In fact given the right circumstances they could even set up an ambush and kill the marquee himself. So he couldn't help but feel disappointed that Anan was dead.
