Aradia was woken up really early because of Lir, why? Because training!

At first Yeon Haa was half asleep and didn't recognise Lir but once she did Lir told her they would start training for her goal of becoming a great mage

The red head wondered why she needed to get up this early and do a lap around the whole academy to become a mage

Unlike swordmasters or any other weapon user mages didn't need physical training, they needed to learn how to use the mana within them to cast spells and what not

At war mages weren't in the frontline, though if a mage wanted they could stay at the frontline so it isn't restricted but rather uncommon; mages tend to stay back at the very end and help from there

Thus the physical ability of even the greatest mages isn't the best to say the least

Aradia, the body that Yeon Haa's soul is in now is very low on mana, while it isn't a special case, the reason as to why this happens to some is still unknown, due to the simple reason that people didn't care enough to research about it

But Yeon Haa does remember that in the original novel "The Survival", after Clara, Aradia's older sister had become a great mage she started researching about this topic alongside the protagonist, Astolfo

Astolfo was both a swordmaster and a mage like any other fantasy protagonist so naturally he wanted to know why some people had almost no mana while others had a good amount

The discovery was a rather interesting one, the whole world is overflowing with mana and so are its people but some people have a gate-way inside them, this gate-way drains out all the mana within the body

The gate-way isn't something with mass but if not treated correctly, the gate-way can possibly or should I say will, take in anything, it doesn't matter if the gate-way takes in something with mass, it will engulf anything and everything

How can this gate-way be treated? There are a total of three ways, one: the gate-way will close on its own, second: someone will transfer a portion of their mana into that person to try and fill that gate-way and the third: to become a death mage

Originally they were known as dark mages but since there are two types of dark magic, one that's pure and can only be used by dark elves, the only species blessed by the God of eternal rest, and the other that gives one more power by human sacrifices, therefore the people that use human sacrifices to become a powerful mage are called death mages

How does being a death mage help in this situation? Human sacrifices can be made into dark mana, and since this gate-way can be closed permanently if it is given enough mana becoming a death mage, a mage whose mane will increase as long as a sacrifice is made, it is an easy way, no?

Lir wanted to increase Aradia's mana and to do so she needs to train but given the short amount of time, and the red head not even knowing the basics of magic, they needed to act fast

And so Lir was going to transfer some of his mana into Aradia's gate-way, mostly to figure out how big the gate-way is and where it's located

The gate-way is like a tunnel in the body with two openings, so it was important to know where the two openings were located

Lir didn't know about the third method of solving this problem, but even if he did it would be no use as being a death mage in prohibited

Aradia had finished her lap around the whole academy and was resting on the grass, Lir came close to her and transformed his body size, he now was human size

Lir was still floating on air but even without doing that the red head could tell he was taller than her

"Get up, I need to check something"

Lir said and a faint blue light came out from his pointer and middle finger

Aradia stood up and extended out her hand making sure nothing was covering her wrist

The albino raised his brows, finding it strange that someone who didn't even know the basics of magic knew what he was about to do but then again the actual soul in the body belongs to someone else therefore it shouldn't be surprising if she knows about this

Lir was about to put some mana into Aradia's system but stopped abruptly and looked at her

"Can you feel mana?"

This was another important thing he needed to know before continuing

"No?"

Aradia didn't know how mana felt

Lir let out a sigh before looking at her again

"The texture depends on the person, like my mana will feel more water like but someone elses mana could feel like falling sand"

The albino then explained

"The mana should spread out evenly throughout your body, but since you have a gate-way inside your system the mana within you will be drained at two points, so I need you to tell me where you felt the mana leaving your body, got it?"

Aradia nodded, thanks to Clara there was a lot of information on mana transferring in the novel so Yeon Haa knows quite a lot and already knew almost all the things Lir had just told her

Lir then put his two fingers that the faint blue light was coming from on the red head's wrist

At the moment Aradia felt like warm water was making its way into her but it was a nice feeling, it was a little ticklish but relaxing at the same time; slowly the water started to spread throughout her body but it stopped abruptly at her left elbow and right shoulder, not going past that point and the mana soon left her body

Lir once again transfered his mana into Aradia but it again stopped at her elbow and shoulder

Lir opened his eyes, his brows furrowed and looked at the red head before speaking

"So?"

"The mana left after reaching my left elbow and right shoulder"

Aradia answersd and retreated her hand, she couldn't help but touch her wrist, the mana had left her with a tingling sensation

"The size of the gate-way isn't that big, so we can definitely close it, however.."

Lir stopped and clicked his tongue

"However what?"

Yeon Haa asked confused

"Because I'm a spirit, putting in a lot of my mana in your system without a contract will lead you to death"

Aradia was surprised at that

"So I could have died by doing this and you didn't even tell me?"

"I knew the mana would be drained, thus there would be no problem but since our goal is to fill that gate-way I can't give you my mana"

The red head was now lost in thought, she couldn't use magic unless this gate-way was closed but who would help her close it? One was Lir but now she knows that isn't going to happen unless she wants to die, who else is there that can help her?

Aradia's eyes widened at a realisation, there was infact a person that could help her

"Do you know someone that can help you?"

Lir asked, though judging by her reaction he already knows the answer

"Yes"

"Who is it?"

"It's... Clara"

Bounas:

*Clara and Issac arguing*

Clara: go to hell!

Issac: tried that, the devil said I misbehave too much

Clara: ....
