Chapter: The Finalization
The next morning, John prepared himself for what would be a pivotal day in his journey. His heart raced with anticipation as he dressed in his finest suit, ready to visit the Rothschild family home. He gathered his personal bodyguards and set off towards the city center.
As they approached the Rothschild estate, John's eyes widened in awe. The mansion was a colossal structure, a blend of classical architecture and modern elegance. Tall marble columns supported an intricately designed façade, adorned with detailed carvings and large, arched windows. The vast estate was surrounded by meticulously manicured gardens, complete with ornate fountains and statues. It was a testament to the Rothschild family's immense wealth and influence.
Upon reaching the grand entrance, John noticed a group of people waiting for him near the gate. The butler, dressed in traditional attire, stepped forward and greeted him with a formal bow. "Welcome, Mr. John. The family is expecting you. Please, follow me."
John nodded and followed the butler, with his bodyguards trailing behind. As they approached the main door, the butler turned and spoke softly, "Mr. John, you are allowed to bring only two bodyguards inside."
John shook his head. "That won't be necessary. I'll go in alone."
The butler nodded, clearly impressed by John's confidence. "Very well, sir. Please follow me."
John was led through the grand foyer, its high ceilings adorned with chandeliers and the walls lined with portraits of the Rothschild ancestors. The opulence of the mansion was evident in every detail, from the polished marble floors to the elegant furnishings.
They finally reached a large, wood-paneled meeting room where several members of the Rothschild family awaited, including Lord Charles and Lady Isabella. The room was filled with an air of formality and expectation. John's gaze met Isabella's, and he noted the same intriguing aura about her that had caught his attention before.
Lord Charles rose to greet him. "Mr. John, welcome. Please, have a seat."
John sat down, feeling the weight of the moment. Lord Charles continued, "I must admit, we were expecting you to bring legal counsel with you. Did you not bring any lawyers?"
John smiled confidently. "I prefer to handle these matters personally. I'll review the paperwork myself."
Lord Charles raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Very well. Let's proceed."
A stack of legal documents was placed before John. With a quick yet thorough glance, he began to review each one, flipping through the pages with practiced ease. The family lawyer observed closely, occasionally nodding in approval. John's speed and accuracy in reviewing the documents left the Rothschild family visibly impressed.
After a meticulous review, John and Lord Charles signed the papers. The family lawyer supervised the process, ensuring everything was in order. Lord Charles then spoke, "Mr. John, the bank you are acquiring is held under a trust. By signing these documents, you now control the entire trust and, therefore, the bank."
John felt a surge of triumph. "Thank you, Lord Charles. I appreciate the trust and opportunity."
Lord Charles smiled. "We are pleased to have you as an ally. Now, please join us for lunch. It would be a pleasure to get to know you better."
John agreed, and the butler escorted them to the dining hall. The room was as grand as the rest of the mansion, with a long table set with exquisite china and crystal. The family members took their seats, with John positioned near Lord Charles and Lady Isabella.
As they settled in for lunch, John couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and anticipation. His journey was taking a new and exciting turn, and he was eager to see where it would lead.
