Killing is taboo.

For the vast majority, this is an unquestionable rule that is adhered to for a lifetime, never to be broken. Even on the battlefield, there are those who refuse to take life unless absolutely necessary, and some would rather undertake much more dangerous sabotage work than to be on the frontlines killing the enemy. According to certain academic papers, at least twenty percent of soldiers are unwilling to fire their weapons during their first battle due to such reasons, and among them, about thirty percent will suffer various degrees of psychological trauma after killing an enemy.
