The caliber of the main gun can exceed 203mm, but must not exceed 406mm. Within these limits, each country may design and manufacture its own capital ships based on their allocated tonnage. For auxiliary ships, that is, cruisers, the standard displacement shall not exceed ten thousand tons, and the main gun caliber shall not exceed 203mm. Similarly, within the allocated limits, each country may independently construct cruisers."
