Science can explain everything, but it cannot understand everything—especially the human heart.
This statement is not a denial of science. The importance of science is self-evident. Without the enlightening brilliance brought by science and logical dialectical thinking, humanity would remain trapped in ignorance and darkness. It is the rapid development of scientific technology that has broadened the scope of human life, enhanced the standard of living, and driven the advancement of civilization, enabling people to reflect upon the world and themselves.
Science is vital. Without this foundation, civilization cannot exist, let alone provide a framework for understanding oneself and the world or exploring the relationship between humanity and nature.
However, if everything is judged solely by science and reason, the most immediate consequence is the loss of individuality and uniqueness in all things, leaving only the stark dichotomy of "necessary" and "unnecessary."
