Chapter 23: A Quiet Person

On the day of fishing, the weather was good. The sun was shining brightly on the lakeside promenade.

After some preparation, Yu Qing also joined, but she wasn't interested in fishing. She sat on a long bench, engrossed in a book.

Ren Haotian said, "Young Master Ze, you might as well give up fishing and accompany Qing'er."

Su Zhanze glanced back and saw Guo Yuqing sitting alone, reading a book.

Jiang Shizi and two other girls were busy cooking.

Ye Chen sat on the lakeside grass in a semi-resting state. He didn't seem particularly interested in fishing. He laid down with a book covering his face, looking as though he had fallen asleep.

Yuan Jingxing came over, gave him a nudge, and asked, "Did you go out last night to play the charming thief?"

The book fell to the ground. Ye Chen shook his head.

"You've been here for a while now. Do you feel acclimated?" Yuan Jingxing handed him a freshly roasted fish.

Ye Chen nodded and replied, "It's alright."
