In the Divine Realm, the competition among gods was fierce. The stronger gods ate the weaker, and the weaker consumed the new gods – a phenomenon happening almost daily. Whenever a new god emerged, some nearby lesser gods would invariably swarm upon them. New gods typically represented naivety and ignorance. Most were frail in strength; often they didn't even know what to do before their Divine Status was seized.
With such anticipation, an influx of lesser gods descended upon this planet, home to three hundred gods of Darkness.
Here in the Ninth Circle, those who could arrive first were naturally other minor gods dwelling within the same Circle. The maiden of Darkness was initially overjoyed, as she needn't scurry about; people were delivering Divine Status right to her doorstep – how could she not be delighted?
Thus, with hearts throbbing with excitement, these three hundred new gods welcomed their first foe.
