Chapter 316: Visitors to the Small Town

Not long after Violet left, a group of knights who had previously questioned Belit quickly arrived at the outskirts of the small town.

From a distance, they could see the towering walls surrounding the town.

This physical barrier prevented them from charging straight into the town, they would have to follow Violet's rules.

This tactic told the knights that if they came, they had to abide by Violet's rules implicitly.

Although not clearly stated, everyone could infer Violet's intention from this.

Of course, the town was not Violet's private property. It was the Empire's territory, and the residents were subjects of the Empire.

To some extent, Violet was merely a proxy governor.

However, that wasn't entirely accurate either. The Blood Rose family, with their noble lineage, had been granted these lands quite some time ago.

In a way, they had more authority than the current Empire to govern and control this town, even if the town mayor's role was endorsed by the Empire.
