After careful consideration of the issue, he slowly began to search within his heart for a rational understanding of the problem that might be the best way to view the situation.
So, in the end, when facing the situation before him, he didn't go on to make any more careless explanations, or forced justifications.
In light of what he saw before him, the issue itself no longer warranted any further deliberation or decision-making worthy of consideration.
