Y/N'S POV
I walked until I reached the classroom where my cousin was already, there she was preparing the books next to Thing. I approached determined to reproach her for what she had said to me in the cafeteria when she stopped me in my tracks and told me that it was not the time because the class was about to start. What did she mean it wasn't the time? It was about twenty minutes before the teacher came through the door. Well, it was time, there wasn't a better one.
- Y/N: Listen to me, it's about time we talk about what happened back then.
-Wednesday: No need to talk anything, you left when I needed you the most with me. What else do you want us to talk about? - she stared at me.
-Y/N: You've never needed anyone, you've always been very independent - I got a little closer - but come on, I don't know what you mean by "the moment when you needed me the most" either.
-Wednesday: They murdered my scorpion, it was some kids from the neighborhood who passed over him with their bicycles while I was walking him - she crossed his arms - I saw my pet being brutally murdered when I was only ten years old. What I wanted most when I got home was to find someone who could give me some comfort and promise me a proper revenge - she looked me in the eyes - but you were gone and I had to cry alone.
-Y/N: Did you cry? - I said worried because I would have never imagined that Wednesday Addams herself would have cried. She would never have been this vulnerable.
-Wednesday: It was the first time in my life that I felt miserable in a bad way - she sighed and sat down - but it's been a long time since that, it doesn't matter anymore. In a way, that made me a stronger person, so thank you for not being by my side at that moment.
It was impossible not to recognize the feeling of guilt that flooded my body, the truth is that it sounded like the saddest story in the world. And for some ten-year-old girls, not having been there for her at that moment counted as the biggest betrayal in history. But I hadn't had it easy either, I was forced to leave, I didn't do it because I wanted to and Wednesday had to know the truth.
-Y/N: I disappeared because my father forced me - I pressed my lips together before continuing speaking - That afternoon when you went out for a walk with your scorpion, he forced me to get into a car without being aware that he was taking me in the direction of the airport. He put me in a wooden box and I traveled to a country totally unknown to me as if I were a fairground monkey. Do you know how I felt at that moment? I was completely alone in a place I didn't know, I had nothing and no one to cling to for safety.
-Wednesday: Why would the uncle Fester do something like that?
-Y/N: I would have liked to have known too, however since I stepped on Japanese territory I never saw him again - I sat at her desk - I didn't abandon you out of pleasure, whether I liked it or not... You were my family.
-Thing: "We are family, nothing has changed" - he added.
-Wednesday: - she remained silent looking into my eyes - I'm having a hard time getting rid of all the grudge I've been accumulating towards you over the years. I don't know if I'll be able to forgive you with this excuse.
-Y/N: - I slowly nodded my head and got off her desk - Sure, if I were you I would have been upset with me too. But try to put yourself in my place too - I said walking towards my desk.
The conversation with my cousin did not go beyond that because immediately the rest of the students began to arrive followed by the teacher. During the change of classes it was not a good idea to talk about serious and personal things, because we were almost always accompanied by the rest of the group. At what point had the Addams put loneliness aside? There were times when I was still surprised to see how there were people who genuinely wanted to be with us.
-Xavier: Y/N, change quickly and come to the school bus - he said after finishing the last class - The time has come to beat up the normies - he smiled resolutely.
-Y/N: - I nodded - I'll put on my archery uniform and come back, don't worry.
As I had told Xavier, I ran to Ophelia Hall and changed quickly so as not to make the school bus wait. When I opened the door to my room, I found Enid waiting leaning against the wall while she looked at her shoes. Why did every gesture she made seemed flirtatious to me?
- Y/N: Enid? - I said making the girl look up at me - What are you doing here?
- Enid: Well, you know... You are going to this very important archery meeting representing our academy, I wanted to wish you good luck - she said giving little jumps as he approached me - although I know you will do great without getting nervous.
-Y/N: - I nodded and smiled slightly - I'll do my best - I started walking towards the outside.
- Enid: "I'll do my best"? - she imitated me by putting on a deeper voice - That's not something Y/N Addams would say. Where has your confidence gone? I was expecting something like... "I don't need luck. There is no target that has survived after my shooting."
-Y/N: - I stared at her for a few moments before continuing walking - I'll bring that damn trophy for Nevermore if only so that Xavier doesn't get heavy later.
- Enid: Sure... But are you feeling all right? You've been weird since this morning.
-Y/N: I'm fine, you know that negative emotions are my favorite - I forced a smile - Talk to Director Duncan to prepare the display case where we will keep the trophy.
-Enid: - nodded - I will - smiled - and I will be waiting for you for our fencing practice.
When I left the building, Xavier was waiting for me with his arms crossed at the entrance of the school bus. I didn't look at my cousin when I passed by her to get into the vehicle, it was obvious that she didn't care about the result of a stupid school competition. The engine started and so I set off for Jericho while I was sitting next to our leader, Xavier.
-Xavier: I hope you've slept well tonight, although I've already been told that you've been with Enid - he smiled hinting at something - You get along very well, huh?
-Y/N: I will not deny that her company is pleasant - I said looking through the window - She seems to understand me most of the time.
-Xavier: - he nodded and smiled - She is always like that, she is very good at listening to others. Although I don't understand how it is that she keeps dating Ajax.
-Y/N: - I shrugged - Enid explained to me that wolves are meant for one person only and that when they find her, they never let her go. Maybe that person is the boy with a nest of snakes on his head.
- Xavier: You mean? - he said surprised - Well, I'm happy for them both. Being reciprocated must feel great.
-Y/N: Listen, I don't know if I'm in the mood to listen to your delusions about my cousin - I fulminated him with my gaze - If you like her, tell her straight and stop making unnecessary detours.
-Xavier: How hard are you, always so sharp - he shook his head and let out a giggle - Do you think I have chances?
-Y/N: If you try you will always have more than if you stay without doing anything - I crossed my arms and leaned my head against the bus window - Maybe you are surprised and you get a positive response, with her you never know. It is impossible to decipher what is going through her head.
-Xavier: You're absolutely right - he clenched his fists and smiled at me - I think I feel more confident now, thanks Y/N.
-Y/N: Your smile disgusts me - I said before closing my eyes.
