CHAPTER 66

Y/N'S POV

As soon as I got home I ran to my shared room with Wednesday and went out on the terrace to call Enid without waking anyone up. I had hoped that I had arrived on time and that she had not yet transformed, however when I looked at the time I realized that it was already too late. Because of doing stupid things around, I had completely forgotten the most important thing. I leaned on the railing of the terrace and looked up at the moon, I wondered if she would be seeing it at that moment too.

I stayed on the terrace for a while waiting for Enid to call me back, however that never happened and in the end I decided to go inside and go to sleep. The next morning, Wednesday stared at me until I woke up. It was not pleasant to open your eyes and find her looking at you like a fairground monkey, out of fright I almost attacked her with my claws.

-Y/N: The one you saved yourself from - I said covering my head with the blankets - You almost scared me to death.

-Wednesday: And you to me with one paw, we are at peace - she shrugged her shoulders and pulled back the blankets - Where were you last night? You've left the entire floor of the room soaked and obviously I'm not going to be the one to clean it.

-Y/N: I got into a lake with Sadie - I said without giving importance - Well, just me. She kept looking at me from the shore.

- Wednesday: But it's winter. What did you intend to do?

-Y/N: And what do I know, Wedns - I sat down listlessly - Sadie started talking to me about doing crazy things and not letting life happen, and in the end we both ended up in our underwear running through the snow - I sighed - It's not that I'm going to catch a cold, my kitsune powers prevent me from doing that so no problem.

-Wednesday: Have you been in your underwear with someone other than Enid? - she crossed her arms and frowned - I had you for another kind of person, in fact, as I found out that you have done something with Sink... I'll kill you when you least expect it. Understood?

-Y/N: Do you really think I would be able to betray Enid? - I said offended - Absolutely nothing happened between Sadie and me, it was a silly game that consisted of enduring the cold. I didn't even let her get close to me when I almost drowned - I lay down again and covered my eyes with my arm.

- Wednesday: Did you almost drown? How is that possible? If you and I learned to swim with sharks, we are used to cold water and so on - she sat on the edge of my bed.

-Y/N: I know, I was confused too - I looked at her - but my body wasn't reacting, I saw my mother's reflection next to mine and when I wanted to realize it I was almost at the bottom of the lake. I came back when I saw the full moon and remembered that I hadn't called Enid - I sighed - In fact, she didn't answer the call and now I'm quite worried about her reaction.

-Wednesday: You're a horrible lover, in that sense you haven't inherited the Addams genes - she stood still for a few moments - But it's interesting the reflection thing. Has it happened to you before?

-Y/N: Since after the fire, on all the surfaces on which I see myself reflected, I see someone else with me. It wasn't until last night that I was able to find out who it was - I looked at her worried - Do you have any idea what that might mean?

- Wednesday: No, for now - she stared at me for a few moments and climbed up to sit on top of me - You're going to stay still for a moment and keep your claws where I can see them. Yes?

- Y/N: What? Why? - I tried to get her off me - Hey, get off - I complained.

-Wednesday: I said quiet - she glared at me and put her hands to my mouth forcing me to open it - I don't know if you've noticed, but your fangs have grown.

-Y/N: Is it... is it good or bad thing? - I tried to talk as I could.

- Wednesday: Don't talk, you'll fill me with drool - she said disgusted - I think your mother's reflection could be a representation of the oppression you feel not being able to show yourself as you really are - she stopped looking at my mouth and grabbed my hands - Your claws have also grown, that's why today you almost sliced me like bread.

-Y/N: It's your fault for stalking me like that - I rolled my eyes and withdrew my hands - I don't know why my mother appears next to my reflection, but it has happened to me that during that moment I electrocute myself. Is it because I can't control the electricity yet?

-Wednesday: I think it's rather the opposite - she got off me - You are developing for some strange reason despite not being training for it. Or are you?

-Y/N: You know very well that I don't, I'm just engaged in procrastination - I got out of bed - Maybe I'm just developing because of age - I shrugged my shoulders without giving it importance.

-Wednesday: That would make sense if you hadn't told me that you see yourself reflected next to your mother, but we'll investigate it further. Now we have to go to high school. Did you do the homework like I told you?

-Y/N: Yes, mother - I rolled my eyes - We have to go unnoticed, blah, blah, blah...

As if things weren't complicated enough in themselves, everything got much more difficult and convoluted when we arrived to high school and saw several police officers cordoning off the area. I looked at Wednesday and I knew from the expression on her face that she was worried about the same thing as me: what if the hunters had found us? The door was forced and most of the lockers and windows were smashed. It looked as if a tornado had snuck in and wiped everything out from the inside.

- Teacher: What kind of thief would want to cause so much damage? The most logical thing would have been for him to take what he wanted without more. Right? - she discussed with the director of the institute.

- Director: It's just that the police officers don't think it's a thief, they've found traces of an animal - he showed her the lid of a locker - Do you see the pawning?

- Teacher: Oh my God! - she covered her mouth in fear - But has he been located? Do you know where that beast is?

Wednesday's eyes opened wide and my jaw almost hit the ground when we actually saw the marks of a paw in different areas of the high school. How was it possible? There had to be some kind of explanation, but none made sense beyond considering the possible existence of a supernatural being apart from me. My cousin and I walked away from the crowd so we could comment on what had happened.

-Wednesday: And now the institute is getting interesting - she said sarcastically - Did you come to the her last night?

-Y/N: Of course not, I went with Sadie to the lake and then came back to call Enid.

- Wednesday: And what happened next?

-Y/N: That she didn't answer me and then I went to sleep, I guess.

- Wednesday: Do you suppose or do you know? - she crossed his arms.

-Y/N: Hey, if I had entered high school and left it in tatters I think I would remember - I said seriously crossing my arms too - But without a doubt, that has been done by a supernatural being.

-Wednesday: Let's do the definitive test - she started to look around - There, the cafeteria table has a paw. Get your claws out and put them on top.

- Y/N: Like this? - I put my claws on top of the mark on the table - Oh, Wedns... I think we have a problem.

-Wednesday: And so much that we have it, the marks match - she looked at me seriously - This destruction has been done by you, we have just confirmed it.

-Y/N: But I'm almost convinced that I went to sleep - I insisted - If I had done this, I would remember.

- Wednesday: Or maybe not, what happened to you at the lake was very strange - she frowned - Maybe your development has something to do with what happened tonight. We'll have to start investigating - she smirked.
