A glimpse of the past.

Jaden, you really need to calm down..." their mother said again, moving towards him. He walked past her, headed for his room.

"Jade...?"

"Don't call me that!" he yelled from the inside.

The woman sighed. Her eyes found her other son, and she glared at him. But the boy just shrugged and walked back inside.

He pulled open the room's door, and saw his brother searching the drawer one more time.

"Why are you overreacting, it's just a wristwatch and you can always get another one" Jaden said, arms and legs crossed, and shoulder resting on the door frame.

Jaden his brother glared at him with a piercing gaze. Jaden lifted his arms in surrender as he eventually walked into the room, closing the door behind him.

"It's a gold wristwatch Jaden, and excluding that, it's the only memory of dad I have. Remember he got it as a gift when I turned ten..."

"...when WE turned ten Jaden" Jaden cut in, and his brother looked away.

"You're still hooked up on that" the younger twin asked, sitting on the bed, but his brother didn't respond.

"You know, I still miss him" the younger twin said again, and the older twin shot him an annoyed gaze.

"Of course, daddy's boy has to miss him. In case you've forgotten, he loved you right, and hated your twin and your mom." The older twin said, getting upset that his brother constantly reminded him of his "bad" father.

Growing up, the older twin had come to realize that his father for some unknown reasons didn't like him, and loved his younger brother. He also made their mom feel less of herself and usually yelled at her at the slightest provocation. But this all ended when their dad travelled to another country, and never returned home.
