Overflowing Bitterness

Doreen woke up disoriented, as if she had been drugged. She felt her aching legs, as well as her head. As her memory started to jump-start, she recalled the last incident she could retain. She was walking with April in the street of New York, when a black van suddenly came up to them, and then, masked men grabbed them, dragged them into the waiting van. And then... and then...

"Dane..."

Doreen gasped the bodyguard's name in horror, as his bloodied figure fell to the ground, after being shot, in his attempt to save them.

Doreen sat up from the bed she had slumbered on. She looked around her, searching for April. It was obvious that she was alone here.

As she scanned her small space, she discovered that she was in a tiny cell. There was the small bed where she sat and at her left was a urinal. There was not any window anywhere in sight. The only opening was the cell door. The place was clean, but was still a cell, just the same.
