Dire Situation I

Damon raised his eyebrow at my questions. "Yes, the doctor and I were both there. Apparently, their usual handyman caught a bad case of the flu so they replaced him with a woman called Lila," Damon said. "She wasn't the fastest, but at least she got the job done. Why? What's the matter?"

I heaved out a sigh of relief. Good."It's nothing," I said reassuringly. "I was simply afraid that the machine might not be fixed properly."

If Doctor Thomas had been there along with Damon, then the chances of sabotage were drastically reduced. Damon would be able to smell a vampire from far away, and Doctor Thomas would never stand for sabotage, not when Blaise's life was on the line.

"It better be fixed. We tested it once and it worked well enough," Damon scowled. I relaxed further. "Nicole, can we cut him up now?"
