Electrifying Consequences

"What on earth?" I I turned around, only to see a crowd of werewolves crowding a fair distance away, with Kyle at the head of their group.

Another flurry of rocks flew in my direction, and this time, Blaise stood in front of me and batted away as many of them as he could with his arms. Kaine's team sprung to attention and they formed a quick shield― not around me, but around Darach.

I didn't take it personally, since their orders were to make sure Darach remained unharmed. I had Blaise for protection. But Blaise, no matter how amazing he was, was only one person.

Some of the rock fragments ended up hitting me. I hissed as I felt the sharp edges scraping my skin. It wasn't as bad as any injury I had gotten recently, but it was annoying nonetheless.

However, Blaise didn't think lightly of my injury. His eyes seemed to glow with a need to enact quick and bloody vengeance.
