The Ancient Giant

This desert with formations was an obstacle.

To make sure it was not a trap formation like he thought, Merlin created the rule seal and used the Rule of Birds to create a bird from emptiness.

The bird flew into the desert. The desert area was cloudless so the sunlight from the sun shone down brightly. The whole air was filled with sweltering heat.

That bird seemed to fly normally. But after entering the territory of the desert for a few hundred meters, its senses experienced a hallucination. The bird stiffened as if being controlled by something. Shortly after flying, it finally fell and sank into the sand.

The event seemed to be extremely common. It was certain that the desert was naturally dangerous.

But Merlin noticed something unusual was going on. The bird still had no signs of dehydration but saw hallucinations. Then it was hypnotized and died.
