I am sorry, for your loss....

Finally after a very long night, the sun partially rised when Bandar woke up. He opened his eyes slowly covering the sun rays with his hands and stood up.

He went outside the den and looked outside. There were birds chirping, leaves rustling, the sound of pond water moving, and many more peaceful, pleasant sounds of nature.

Bandar let out a sigh and stretched his hands and legs. He cracked his knuckles making a weird 'crack' sound. He stretched his back with his hands on his head.

After, he woke up Malik. "What?" Asked Malik in a sleepy voice with his eyes still closed. "Wake up man. It's like 7 o'clock and the sun is shining brightly." Said Bandar while shaking Malik's hand.

"Fine." Said Malik while slowing opening his eyes. His eyes opened slower than a turtle. He got up and went outside the den just like Bandar. While Malik was looking at the sun and his surrounding, Bandar approached from behind him and got him some water.

"Thanks." Said Malik. "Let's wake the others up and discuss a few things. We need to get back to our tribe. What if those people spared one person and kept him or her as a hostage?" Malik continued.

"Yeah... but I am not sure about the last line you said there." Told Bandar. The two of them turned behind and walked towards the den to wake the people up. The temperature was not too hot. The sun heated up the wild a little and made it cool and not cold.

The others finally woke up and stood up. Bandar and Malik helped the 4-5 pregnant women to stand and their husbands helped too. They all drank some water and sat down in the open, outside of the den to eat breakfast.

They all had some apples and a few carrots which a tribesman had found while looking around. Ofcourse, Malik had checked the carrots before eating it. This wasn't some poisoned carrot and then someone eats it and falls sick and ends up dying like all the tales ever told by this tribe.

While everyone was enjoying eating, Malik asked for everyone's attention. "Everybody, please look here and pay attention. After we have our food, please go inside the den and sit in the same manner as now." Said Malik.

"We will have a meeting for what happened yesterday and we will discuss on what to do as we don't have much resources." He continued.

Everyone nodded their heads and continued eating peacefully. A few started talking, meanwhile the others were eating without talking.

[After everyone had finished eating they sat in the den.]

"Okay, thank you following Malik's orders. Now yesterday, did anyone see or hear anything while those people were entering or talking or the sounds of their horses walking or galloping?" Asked Bandar.

They all looked at each other for 2 minutes and finally one of them raised their hand slowly and timidly. "Yes, Milo. What did you see or hear." Asked Malik. Milo, put his hand down and explained,

"I woke up because I had an urgent feeling of going to the washroom. Just as I sat up, I heard footsteps of horses and a few footsteps of people."

"I took a peak outside with the help of a small hole I had on my door. I was those strange-looking people who had entered our tribe a few days ago, the ones who offered for a tribe collaboration or whatever. I woke up my friend, Gil, who was sleeping beside me. I told Gil about it all and we tried to stay calm.

Just then, those weird people started attacking us and setting things on fire."

"We had a back door in our hut and so we escaped from there. I was ahead of Gil. Unfortunately, one of the enemies had caught his and he was brutally murdered and his body was set of fire. His last words were "Run." And he died. I saw all this because I was looking behind and running." Explained Milo, with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Everyone in the tribe knew that Milo and Gil were the best of the best of the best friends. "I am sorry for your loss. Atleast, now we know a little bit of what happened. Anyone else?" Said Bandar.

A mere child, around the age of 5 or 6 named Lily. "Yes Lily." Said Bandar. "Although I did not see much, one of the weird people had pointed a sword at me. He said that if my parents did not give me all their things, they would kill all of us."

"We did not have anything and that person thought we lied. So he killed my parents. I managed to escape as he was killing them." Said Lily. She was one of the most happiest child in the tribe and now she had no parents. Everyone was shocked to hear that Mira and John, Lily's parents, who were the sweetest and most hardworking were dead now.

She had seen her own parents get killed at a young age. She saw her parents get murdered. Lily started crying a lot. Everyone comforted her. What made it more sad was that she had hid her tears from everyone for an entire day without saying a word.

Bandar felt sad as he knew how it felt like not having any parents around in your childhood. After the girl calmed down a bit, Bandar continued, "Did anyone else see or hear anything? Do you know somebody else who could have died?" Asked Bandar.

Almost everyone had raised their hand up. "This is going to be a long meeting." Said Malik.

[An hour later, after everyone had mentioned who they had seen had died the meeting was declared over and Malik and Bandar went outside.]

"So more than 20 people have died. To be exactly 28 people have died." Said Malik. "There were children who saw their loved ones being brutally murdered with no mercy." Said Bandar. " I know it's sad. But we have to deal with it, so do they." Said Malik patting Bandar on his back.

Now, they have to get a plan started with all the information they have.
