Su Yin kidnapped

A few minutes after they left, three guards with swords and large torches came running towards Bai Wan.

"Where are they?" The first one to arrive asked Bai Wan.

"Sorry, it was a mistake. I saw a monkey dressed like an assassin and I mistook it for the Shadow Vanguard," he lied.

The three guards stared at him, at a loss for words and action to take. After all, he was the son of a powerful merchant, and they might incur his father's wrath if they hurt him.

"Don't try this nonsense next time. Do you know what would have happened if we had called for reinforcements? They would have labeled us crazy, and we would have lost our jobs."

"I apologize. It was a mistake. I won't make such a reckless claim again."

The guards exchanged skeptical glances, clearly not entirely convinced by Bai Wan's explanation. However, the gravity of the situation seemed to sink in, and they decided not to press further.
