You Are Enough.

Malik's gaze returned to her as he released his weight from on top of her, ensuring he wouldn't crunch her. His hand was on the ground as he watched her, and for a fleeting second, she saw fear in him. He took a deep breath. "Are you okay?" he said to her, his breath inches away from her face now.

Safiya's heart was beating rapidly, not just because he was so close that she couldn't breathe, but because of what might have happened to her if that big tree had fallen on her. Fear overtook her – fear of the unknown after she died.

"Thank you," she mouthed, her eyes staring at him gratefully. If Malik had not been here, then she would have—only the gods know what would have happened to her.

Malik stared at her, his gaze traveling from her eyes to her lips. It remained there for a long time before he cleared his throat and looked back at her eyes. "You shouldn't be here so late, alone," he said.

Safiya nodded, her mind racing too fast to say anything.
