Volume 8 Chapter 5
It was a normal day in hidden leaf village. Danzo, one of the village elders walked towards the Hokage tower. In the shadows, his loyal root shinobi followed him. He could have chosen any other place to meet. But he has chosen the hokage tower for a reason. He wanted it to be an official meeting. The discussion of this meeting would be recorded in an official file.
He intended to use it in his favour to put political pressure on Tsunade once he took control of those two Jinjurikis.
Little did he know that his greed for power would bring his demise.
Danzo entered the room. Koharu and Homura were waiting for him.
"Thank you for coming in this short notice, old friends." Danzo greeted them.
"Drop the plesantries Danzo. Tsunade is already doubting us for every single thing that goes wrong, because we were simply involved with you. And now you called us to this official meeting. What are you planning ?" Koharu was suspicious of Danzo.
Danzo smiled inwardly. His old friends were suspicious of him. Which was good. They have known each other for a long time. The new how dirty he could be. He has always been an uptight emotionless and ruthless person.
And it was rare for him to use pleasantries to someone of his equal or less stature. Unless of course he has something to gain. He has always been the person who demanded attention and respect. And his old friends knew it well.
"Straight to the point then. I have a very important matter to discuss with you. The future of the village hidden in the leaf might depend on this meeting." Danzo put up afside of a very serious crisis or important matter.
Both of them where suspicious but they sat down in the chairs nonetheless.
This time Homura spoke up.
"Cut to the chase Danzo, if this is as important as you say, then skip the unnecessary things."
Danzo nodded. It was better that they were in the mood of business.
"Alright let me tell you the details first.
Recently have you heard the news of Orochimaru being killed ?" Danzo dropped the question.
"Yes it was the recent hot topic. The rumour that Orochimaru has actually been killed. But no one new who did the job."
Homura agreed.
"Then let me tell you that the rumour is actually true. I should tell this from the start. You will have easier time understanding the situation.
After the retrieval mission of kazekage, the hidden leaf team got an information about a Spy of an Akatsuki member Sasori, who has working as an assistant of Orochimaru..."
Danzo paused for a bit to see the reaction of his old teammates. As he expected they didn't know anything about it. But he was not that surprised. The position of elders might contain political power and a seat in the council, when it comes to actual power the Hokage hold the leash on the village.
"When I got the information, I offered Tsunade one of my root agents for assistance. I wanted to make sure that the spy must be captured. Not to mention there was a fair share of chance that Uchiha Sasuke might appear. I wanted to make sure that if they were unable to retrieve him, then the traitor must be eliminated."
As Danzo expected, they were outraged after hearing his plan.
"Are you out of your mind Danzo ! Eliminating Uchiha Sasuke ! He is the last Uchiha. We need him to continue the Uchiha clan. Not to mention except from deserting the village he has not gone against us in any other way. So death is out of option." Homura argued.
"And on top of that, if Itachi got the wind of what you did, then even your position as the village elder won't save you. He will definitely raise the village to the ground all on his own. Did you truly forget that he killed his own parents his own entire clan just for the sake of his brother ? If you truly think that he did all that for the village, then you are wrong. He was one of our best and loyal shinobi. But his love for his brother far exceeds his loyalty." Koharu was also angry.
"We might capture him and seal away his chakra permanently and use him just as a breeding stock, but killing or farming him in any way won't end up good for our village. And you know it well."Homura continued.
Danzo let them finish. After that he said in a calm voice.
"It was for the safty of the leaf. And besides Tsunade didn't agree at all to my proposal."
They sighed simultaneously.
"You know what, we are lucky that Tsunade didn't agree. So whom did she send ?" Koharu asked.
"That's where the problem lies. She sent a four men cell made up of Kakashi Hatake, Yamato, Naruto Uzumaki and Tenten Higurashi." Danzo said in a straight face.
Both of them noded in approval.
"Hmmm... A very good team. Tenten and Kakashi are very capable. The wood style user is also good. We don't know how much the kyuubi Jinjuriki has improved, but if he is anything like his parents, then there should be no problem. Homura assessed the team.
"Exactly at that, where the problem lied.
They went to the mission and even managed to kill both Orochimaru and the spy. From what my spy observed, Uzumaki Naruto delivered the final blow to the traitor. They managed to find out his hide out. The even managed to capture Uchiha Sasuke."
Danzo paused to create suspence.
"If this is has truly happened then why haven't we heard about this news ?" Koharu asked.
"Exactly there the problem lies. After they captured the Uchiha, they extracted some kind of information from him and then let him go.
My spy wasn't able to get the exact thing, from what he understood they were working under the order of Tsunade. And I am afraid that she is planning something, that might prove to be dangerous for the village." At that moment he unleashed kotoamatsukami . Or at least he tried to.
