Outside the University of Seville in Spain.
When Coulson arrived with Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, two genius scientists, to meet up with Oaks, he thought he should have come alone.
Simmons, being an expert in life sciences, displayed the expected attitude of an enthusiastic fan towards Oaks.
Coulson even felt that he was more reserved when he first met Captain America compared to this young man.
"Fortunately, Fitz isn't like that..."
Coulson's smile froze on his face.
Because after Oaks agreed to take Fitz to visit Dr. Banner, Fitz also fell under his spell.
"I really should have come alone."
But once they entered the University of Seville, Coulson's smile became subtle.
Although Oaks thought he probably wasn't that famous, he was recognized by students as soon as he entered the school.
Well, it was normal for students in the biology department.
After being forced to leave behind a pile of autographs and take numerous photos, Oaks had to find an opportunity to slip away and stealthily return as a cheetah.
"It's not necessarily a good thing to be too famous... I didn't have as much screen time as Tony in the London incident, so why are there still so many people?"
"Stark did have a high screen time. He was battling that dark-haired handsome guy from start to finish. But when you and Thor teamed up against that guy with a dead face, even though your human form had less screen time, your beast form..."
Before Coulson could finish, Simmons nodded repeatedly.
"Your beast form is so cool! You don't know, but many toy stores now have action figures of your beast form..."
"...I'll have Matt prepare a cease-and-desist letter when I get back, and I'll apply for a patent for these skin variations!"
They finally arrived at Professor Elliott Randolph's office.
"As expected, there aren't many people in the history department."
Coulson approached and knocked on the door, then opened it and walked in.
"En, Agent Coulson, welcome!"
Professor Elliott Randolph greeted Coulson warmly as he saw him enter and quickly ushered him in.
As for the three young people behind him dressed in casual attire, he didn't pay them much attention.
"I guess you found something in London?"
He didn't waste any words. Coulson had already called him before, and with Thor's appearance in London, he naturally thought Coulson had come to see him about what they found there.
He couldn't contain his desire to showcase his vast knowledge any longer!
"In fact, it was inside a tree in Norway."
Elliott Randolph was slightly taken aback, but he saw Coulson take a 3D model of a short staff from Fitz's hand.
"Unfortunately, we weren't the first to find it."
"Incredible..."
A spark of surprise flashed in Randolph's eyes, but he smoothly took the model of the short staff and placed it under a lamp.
"Hmm... judging from these runic inscriptions, this should be a part of the Berserker staff."
Having made his decision, he didn't hesitate anymore and picked up a book from the side, flipping it open.
"This myth dates back to the late 12th century, about a mighty warrior from Asgard, the Berserker."
"The Berserker?"
Coulson instinctively glanced at Oaks, who raised an eyebrow. Randolph continued flaunting his knowledge while flipping through the book.
"That's right, the Berserker Army, a powerful army unstoppable like raging beasts, leaving no one alive wherever they went."
He glanced at the astonished Fitz and the unbelieving Simmons, then smiled.
"A single Berserker possesses the strength of twenty ordinary warriors, and a warrior wielding this staff is consumed by an uncontrollable rage—
The staff possesses incredibly powerful magic."
"Perhaps there are scientific properties we haven't discovered."
Simmons, being a scientist, always maintained a skeptical attitude towards magic.
"In Asgard, magic is the unknown science."
Oaks smiled and spoke up. He took a couple of steps forward and nodded to Simmons.
"I have personally experienced this, so you're right, and he's right too."
At this moment, Elliott Randolph finally noticed the young man who had been silently standing in the background, seemingly Coulson's sidekick.
"Uh... Coulson, you didn't tell me that an Avenger came along."
He took a deep breath, calmed his nerves, and smiled as he approached and extended his hand.
"Dr. Oaks, I've heard of your reputation."
"Professor Randolph, I've wanted to meet you for a long time, so when Coulson came, I took the opportunity to join him."
Oaks smiled and shook hands with Randolph, feeling the overwhelming vitality that surpassed that of an Earthling.
"That story is quite interesting. What happened to the mighty warrior later on?"
"Ah... yes, the mighty warrior."
Randolph's smile seemed forced, but since they had reached this point, he had to continue.
"According to legend, the warrior came to Earth to fight but ended up falling in love with... the Earth's life, Earthlings, and Earth itself. So when his army returned, he chose to stay behind."
"Which means the staff belongs to him?"
Oaks looked deeply into Randolph's eyes.
"So why was it broken?"
"To prevent the dark magic within it from falling into the wrong hands, he broke the staff into three pieces and hid them in different locations."
Even Fitz and Simmons, as inexperienced agents, noticed that something was off from Randolph's expression.
They looked at Coulson in confusion, who gave a slight smile and spoke up.
"So, are there any records of these three locations in the legends?"
"Yes, in three verses compiled from ancient texts that have long been lost."
Randolph persisted, quickly explaining the meaning of the poems to the group and suggesting that they start searching from the recently unearthed ruins on Baffin Island.
"Our time is precious, Professor."
Coulson looked at Oaks once again and nodded.
"Those crazy cultists won't give us much time. If they find the first location, it's clear they'll have knowledge about the other two as well. It would be troublesome if they get there first."
"So let's have an open and frank discussion, Professor Randolph."
A glimmer appeared on Oaks, and amidst the shocked gazes of everyone, the upgraded version of the Asgardian Forest Heart battle cloak manifested on him before vanishing.
"Let me reintroduce myself, Oaks Woods, the Sage of Asgard, Royal Advisor. I have no obligation to track down a deserter who has been hiding on Earth for eight hundred years... but please provide Coulson with the coordinates of these three locations directly, so he can save some trouble."
"..."
Randolph remained stunned for a moment, then displayed a helpless wry smile.
"Sage... Royal Advisor... Earthling... It surprises me more than when Thor mentioned having a girlfriend on Earth."
He sighed, took out a piece of paper, and quickly wrote down two addresses with his cherished golden pen, handing it to Coulson.
"Remember not to touch the staff directly. Otherwise, with the frailty of Earthlings, it will consume you with rage...
Your Excellency, if possible, could you keep my identity... confidential?"
