Chapter 292: Visiting Nidavellir

Nidavellir, one of the Nine Realms in the world tree structure, the realm of the dwarves.

This place is a stellar-level forge, although it is a neutron star on the edge of extinction, it is still a star.

Not only in the Nine Realms, even in the Milky Way, it is known as the legendary "Godly Armory."

Layers of metal rings surround the central star, making it the most distinctive planet in the Nine Realms.

Oaks can clearly feel the power here, the scorching power of the star and the surging cosmic energy.

Using healing spells here would basically have no additional effect.

There are about three hundred dwarves living on this planet that can be directly called an arsenal, and their leader, King Eitri, is a master blacksmith who has created numerous Asgardian artifacts.

Odin's Gungnir, Thor's Mjolnir, Heimdall's Sword of Guardian, and Freyr's Sword of Victory.

And also, the future Infinity Gauntlet and Stormbreaker.

Earth has the means to melt Uru metal and enchant it, but it lacks the dwarves' expertise in designing and crafting powerful artifacts. So after Oaks helped heal the various injuries the dwarves had accumulated over the years of work, Eitri generously gave Oaks a pile of Uru metal ingots.

Although this is something Earth doesn't have, there is plenty of it in Nidavellir, and if it hasn't been forged, it's not that rare.

"What kind of weapon do you want to create?"

Thor's mouth twitched as he looked at Oaks, who used magic to store the approximately three tons of Uru metal ingots.

As the titled Sage and royal advisor of Asgard, having treated Odin and resurrected Balder and Frigga, Oaks have earned many merits. So his request for a weapon forged in Nidavellir was quite normal.

And he wasn't asking for something like Mjolnir that could create a Thor-level being solely through the power of the weapon itself.

"Gauntlets, or rather, claw gauntlets."

Oaks raised his right hand, and his palm turned into the claws of a starry leopard. The sharp claws flashed with a glimmer of light.

"While I don't need a weapon, and these claws are already quite strong. But if there were dwarven-made gauntlet weapons, I believe my attack power could be greatly enhanced."

"Hmm, that's true."

Thor nodded in agreement. A large portion of his combat power relied on Mjolnir.

At this point, Thor had not yet awakened from being the "God of Hammers" and transformed into the true "God of Thunder." Without Mjolnir, he couldn't fully unleash his true power of lightning.

He had a profound understanding of the importance of weapons.

"Weapons in the form of gauntlets, huh..."

Although they were called dwarves, the massive King Eitri stroked his thick beard.

The old injuries accumulated over the years were healed by Oaks's healing magic, making him feel incredibly good.

In his current state, he felt an urge to create a super powerful artifact.

However, even though Thor was here, he wouldn't go all out to forge a super powerful artifact without the explicit consent of the All-Father Odin.

But... there could be a compromise.

"In fact, Asgard has a gauntlet-like artifact that was also forged by me."

Eitri thought for a moment, then shifted his gaze to Thor's Mjolnir:

"Well… It was created during the same period as Mjolnir."

"During the same period as Mjolnir?"

Thor was surprised. How did I not know about it?

"Draupnir, its shape is like a ring, or rather, an arm ring... And, it can change in size to a certain extent according to its owner's will."

When Eitri mentioned the name, Thor suddenly realized.

"So that's it. It's Father's artifact, but wasn't it a self-duplicating ring? How did it become a weapon again?"

"The boundless magical power it contains allows it to self-duplicate for thousands of years. Of course, it can also be used for attacks."

Eitri spoke as if it were a matter of course.

"But Draupnir wasn't specifically created for combat. And even if its magic is used for attacks, it only applies to fists.

Sage, what you're asking for is the strengthening of your claws."

He crossed his arms and thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Actually, to create a weapon, we first need to design a blueprint, which takes quite a bit of time...

But the blueprint for Draupnir is still here, and what's even more fortunate is that we also have blueprints for gauntlet-type weapons.

Just by combining the two, making modifications in appearance and focusing the magic power on the attack aspect, we can directly forge a powerful claw weapon.

Wait here for a moment; the first draft of the design will be ready soon."

While Oaks and Thor were still in awe, Eitri's eyes lit up, and he hurriedly left.

"Um... actually, if it's possible to create self-duplicating gold rings, I'd choose that."

Oaks scratched his head. Draupnir, this thing represents endless wealth...

Eight identical gold rings generated every nine days, isn't that lavish?

"You're not someone short of money, Oaks."

Thor smiled and patted Oaks's shoulder.

"Well, then... you wait here. I have to investigate the whereabouts of the Infinity Stones and the mastermind as soon as possible. Loki is in danger. "

"Loki..."

Oaks looked at Thor, who had a worried expression on his face, with a strange look.

"Well, that guy is very cunning. So, he should be fine."

"Before absolute power, his little cleverness is not worth mentioning."

Thor subconsciously swung his hammer, and the muscles on his arm rippled.

"He couldn't even kill me, let alone someone more dangerous?

I know that for you humans, it's not possible to change your attitude towards Loki so quickly, but to me, he is my brother."

I don't know where Baldur is. Perhaps if I find Loki, we can search for Baldur together."

"...,"

Oaks shrugged. What could he say? Odin had ordered him to keep quiet, so he could only watch Thor wander around like a headless fly.

No, even if Thor couldn't find Loki, it would be good to find out what Thanos is up to.

After all, Odin is still alive, and even if Thanos discovered Thor, he wouldn't do anything to him.

"Well, what did 'All-Father' say about the Mind Stone?"

Earlier in Asgard, while Oaks and Heimdall were chatting, Thor had already met with "Odin."

"Father approves of my decision. Since the Sorcerer Supreme helped, he is at ease."

Hmm, that's the advantage of getting the Sorcerer Supreme involved.

Thor stroked his scruffy chin and raised an eyebrow.

"Speaking of which, you should have thought of this solution long ago."

"I was afraid I couldn't resist the temptation of controlling an Infinity Stone."

Oaks shook his head helplessly.

"I have used the Mind Stone before, and its power... is indeed intoxicating. So even if it's in my possession, I still need to ensure that there is more than one Guardian."

"Are all the Avengers Guardians of the Mind Stone, along with the Sorcerer Supreme..."

Thor exclaimed in admiration.

"It's impressive. Just think about what S.H.I.E.L.D. did with the Tesseract... Tsk, tsk!"

He waved his hand, bidding farewell to Oaks.

"I'm leaving now. Just call Heimdall yourself later... Hopefully, I'll bring some good news, Heimdall!"

"Boom—"

The radiance of the Bifrost flashed, and Thor disappeared.

"Next time... sigh, I wonder what's going on with Hela."

Oaks remembered the warning from Hoder's fading consciousness— "Beware of Hela," and couldn't help but feel a headache.

After all, Hela's place of confinement should be Helheim.

And Helheim had a passage to Avalon.

"So, I still need to enhance my own strength to face any challenges..."

Oaks saw that King Eitri had returned with a big roll of blueprints, and a smile crept up on his lips.

"A weapon is also part of one's strength..."

"Sage... The blueprints are ready... Tsk, that Thor is really impatient!"

Eitri had already seen the light of the Bifrost and knew that Thor had left Nidavellir.

He rubbed his big beard, shook his head, and spread out the blueprints in his hands to show Oaks a pair of gloves with sharp claws at the fingertips and protection extending to the wrists. The design was simple yet majestic, with a striking appearance.

Very striking, very familiar.

It resembled... the Infinity Gauntlet.

Except that the original positions for the Infinity Stones in the left and right hands were replaced by "C"-shaped open-loop reliefs.

"A very gorgeous gauntlet, worthy of Sir Eitri."

"These reliefs are the design of Draupnir, used to store magical power...

Since the Sage is satisfied, I will start the blueprint now and prepare for forging!"

Eitri slapped his chest with a loud thud.

"Rest assured, Sage. You healed our dwarves' old wounds, so within the allowed range, I will make this pair of gloves the best they can be!"

"Well... Thank you, Sir Eitri."

Oaks reluctantly thanked Eitri and his mouth twitched as he watched the Dwarf King instruct his subordinates to start forging. He sighed.

"I hope they didn't just modify the blueprints of the Infinity Gauntlet directly. The pressure is enormous..."

Thinking of this, another thought flashed through Oaks's mind.

If this pair of gloves was really modified from the blueprints of the Infinity Gauntlet, then it meant that Nidavellir possessed the blueprints for both the left and right-handed Infinity Gauntlets!

And I had once seen a replica of the right-handed Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's Vault.

Thanos had the left-handed Infinity Gauntlet.

So...

"Is the one in the vault really a replica..."

...

Earth, Avengers training facility.

"Mr. Stark, there's an urgent message."

J.A.R.V.I.S.'s voice echoed in Tony's lab, causing him to frown and pause his work.

"Urgent message?"

Tony waved his hand to summon a holographic image.

"Terrorist attack? Intelligence leak? Or did some unlucky congressman get kidnapped for ransom?

Hmm? No deployment of Iron Legion?"

"Yes, sir. This is important information."

J.A.R.V.I.S. pushed an encrypted document onto the holographic display in front of Tony.

"After more than two years, we have finally found the location of the Ten Rings' headquarters!"

Tony's body jolted, and his expression became serious.

He verified his fingerprint and iris, opened the encrypted file, and carefully read it.

"The Ten Rings' headquarters is located within China... No wonder it took so long!"

Then he looked at the photo of a young man in the file, and his expression became strange.

"I remember meeting this guy at the Benevolence Society... He's the target of the Ten Rings?"

He let out a breath, sat down in his chair, and shook his head after a moment.

"It seems I'll have to find that Druid for this matter."
