Mercenary Assassin.

Blaze looked at the two boys supporting Erebus out of the hall, when something came into his peripheral view.

"Frost, come back after dropping off Mr. Erebus in the office."

Blaze turned his head to look at the little kid sleeping on the chair.

He then continued, once Frore and Anashvar had stopped walking.

"Can you carry her back to the office too? Sleeping here isn't exactly comfortable. She needs to have a proper rest."

"..ok."

Anashvar smiled at Blaze being a caring big brother to his sister.

A lot has happened to the two of them in the past few months. They went through some unspeakable ordeals.

He could not sleep at night, it was cold and he had be on alert at all times to protect himself and his sister.

They were hurt and had to survive in a harsh environment without any proper food.

Almost everyday they had to go to sleep on an empty stomach.

But today was the first day in weeks that they could have food and shelter and someone, who they could trust.

Someone who wouldn't hurt them and who truly cared for them.

Aakriti was sleeping peacefully and...

{Maybe, I can sleep without worrying tonight too. It's all thanks to Blaze.}

Anashvar had this thought as he turned his head to look at Frore.

{Frost, as well. I will definitely repay them one day, for all that they had done for us.}

Feeling his gaze, Frore asked Anashvar.

"Is something wrong?"

Anashvar shook his head from side to side, the smile was still there on his face.

"Nothing. Let's go, big brother."

Frore never had siblings before.

As soon as his foster parents had a child, they had abandoned him.

But, hearing Anashvar and Aakriti call him 'big brother' he felt that it wasn't bad.

He wouldn't mind having little siblings.

"..yeah."

They started walking again and soon left the hall.

Blaze watched them leave and had a thought.

{I thought that Frore would give them the cold shoulder. But they are getting along just fine.}

Blaze smiled and sat back on his seat. He was in a good mood.

Blaze looked towards the door and called the next person in.

"Next."

A women with orange-reddish hair and eyes dressed in a black leather suit and a black robe and a black mask covering half of her face walked in.

She bowed at him in greeting.

When Blaze saw her, he immediately had this thought.

{If I hadn't known your identity, I would have surely selected you. Because I really wanted one.}

He made eye contact with her.

"Miss 'Mary', you are an assassin?"

She closed her eyes and gave a light nod as a response.

She then turned invisible without listening to what Blaze had to say next.

About five to ten seconds later, Blaze felt the coldness of the revolver held against his temple.

Without turning his head or moving at all, Blaze commented casually.

"An amazing display of ability. You are skilled as I have heard Miss Shirley."

Shirley didn't even flinch when Blaze used her real name.

She emotionlessly replied.

"I don't know how and where you got that information from Mr. Ignis. But I do know that you are not a simple man. The big guilds were right about you being a threat to them."

Blaze laughed.

"I also know that you are not the kind of person who takes on an impossible task, miss Shirley. You can't assassinate me...I know that you are well aware of this fact."

Shirley lowered her hand holding the revolver.

"Yes, I am not here for assassination."

Blaze turned sideways and made eye contact with her.

"Then does your mission entail spying on me madam 'mercenary queen'?"

This time, Shirley was the one laughing.

"You know everything, don't you? But, I am not here on a mission. It's personal interest."

Blaze nonchalantly asked.

"And, you expect me to believe that?"

She tilted her head and replied in an innocent way.

"It's really the truth, though."

One side of Blaze's lips curled up and he replied back in a similarly innocent tone.

{I am not going to fall for your act, mercenary queen. I know your nature.}

"Oh, is that so?

It's too bad then, even if you're telling the truth; I cannot accept you in my guild due to your profession."

Miss Shirley had a crease in her forehead due to Blaze's mimicry of her tone.

She became serious and replied in a cold voice, with a face that was devoid of any emotions.

"Blaze Ignis, don't push your luck. I may not be able to kill you, but don't forget that you have a little brother and that child sleeping next to you..seems to be your family member as well. You cannot protect them all the time. Now, can you?"

When she said it, it was Blaze's face that had lost all emotions.

He glared at her with a deadly murderous intent.
