Past Memories

Evangeline paused. Her eyes widened slightly before dimming. Her mother.. The first wife of her husband, Monique Asherah Emar, later known as Midnight Star. her father had not kept a single portrait of her mother around her.

He had hidden them in the basement room. When she had asked, he had told her to cope up with his pain. And she has a new mother now.

She removed the fading image of her mother standing in the garden, between the flowers, she sang a song. The melody made the wind breeze and the plants dance. Her laughter was like music. A distinct memory told her that her mother could make the flowers dance but it must have been her imagination. After all, she was too small when she died.

Six.. she was six or seven? Evangeline felt lost all at once. The thoughts were so blurry as if she was looking at them through a veil. Yet the laughter felt so close as if she could still hear it in her heart.
