The Dark Past

"I.. I did not mean to offend you, your grace." Olga bowed her head readily but Eve only rolled her eyes.

"That is why you are following me when I have already told you that your services are not needed and you can retire for the night." Olga gulped, she opened her mouth, struggled for words but none came out.

She knew from the start that Ana did not like her. But the duchess had never been vocal about it except today. She was only following the commands given by his grace. She did not understand why the duchess could not understand such a simple thing.

When she noticed Eve's eyes going colder, she inhaled a deep breath and forced herself to nod.

"Very well, your grace." She bowed her head and left the room. Eve turned to see the man was staring at them. As if they were two dogs fighting for the same bone. Their eyes met and before Eve could remind the man again, Violet jumped inside from the window startling both of them.
