Little Magic

Damien rose to the cold bed. Yet the warmth of her body lingerd on his. He realized it was the first time that he had slept so well. So well that it was already noon when he woke up.

His eyes flickered when he did not find blood on the sheet. But she felt so tight last night. Not that he had any idea how it should have been. He had been told by the elders what to expect from a marriage and then he was mocked that he was not going to receive any special feeling because he had bought second hand goods. How he had punched that man, he shook his head and stood up.

He touched the glass of water and it became warm. Drinking, he found clothes and wore them. He left the room only to see there was hardly any staff on the floor.

Except for knights at the end of corridors, he did not see any maid waiting for them. He frowned. Though he had not pressed the bell. What if he had pressed it. What if he needed assistance?
