Benji POV
At the beginning of Blue Bloods’ opening night, Benji was in the blood room. It was not work that he enjoyed.
All those poor, unsuspecting humans were being treated like cattle. The worst part, however, was that their free will was taken away. Many of them were on a combination of drugs and compulsion – none of them had decided to be there. It felt wrong in Benji’s opinion.
But how else could his family get blood without exposing their secret?
At least it was better than being out in the club. In the blood room, humans sat in medical beds while their blood was being drawn. Afterward, they’d be offered juice or a cookie before being guided to the alley exit, then compelled to forget, go home, and rest. In the club, vampires hunted for their victims and often fed on them out in the open. Benji sincerely hoped they kept those activities in the VIP section.
