Ginger crawled into bed after the Halloween festival ended when her phone went off. She looked at the screen and saw a text from an unknown number. 


‘Benji?’ She replied. She didn’t think it would be anyone else, but she had to be sure. 


She smiled to herself and typed out a reply. ‘Just getting into bed. I guess you’ll be up until sunrise, huh?’


‘Yes, there’s always something to do or learn’.


‘What do you plan on learning?’ Ginger wanted to know what kind of things fascinated Benji. 


‘Right now, I’m actually trying to come up with a plan to convince my father that our families should come to an agreement that would allow us to work together.’ 


‘Oh really?’ Ginger wondered what the motivation for that was and secretly hoped it was her. 


‘I think it would be better for us all. Plus, it’ll make it easier for us to see each other. Right now, I have to be sneaky.’
