Chapter 25: It's Beginning

Ginger POV

Ginger was starting to become worried. It was two days until New Year’s Eve and all she could think about was Benji’s plan to figure out what Hunter was up to. It could be dangerous for him, considering Hunter was a bit unstable. Her part was to convince Rowan and Harkin that Hunter was the only real danger amongst the Emerald family. Benji was working on doing the same to turn his own family against Hunter.

It all felt like doom was right around the corner.

“You look like garbage,” Indigo commented as he strode into the kitchen for breakfast.

“I haven’t been sleeping well,” Ginger told him honestly. Ever since Benji told her what was going on, her mind continued to play out all kinds of scenarios that led to the death of someone she loved. She didn’t think she would be able to cope with that again. She received one giant crack in her heart when her mother was killed and another when Carmine betrayed them. Another one would simply shatter her poor heart completely.
